About this house rental
Enjoy sweeping valley and mountain views from your fully updated mountainside cabin in the woods - all just a short walk to ski lifts and local hiking trails.
This beautiful cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The main floor bedroom and the loft bedroom both have queen beds. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room and smaller day bed in the loft as well. The loft is accessed via a ladder-style staircase. The footing is secure and there are easy handrails - its great for kids, but not those with accessibility issues.
Also included: a washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen, and WiFi. Parking for up to two cars.
No smoking, pets, or parties.
Use Forest Edge Hideaway as a base to explore Girdwood, walk in Moose Meadows, a day hike on Winner Creek Trail, a tram ride to 7 Glaciers restaurant, and the local food scene, including Jack Sprat, Chair 5 and the Double Musky. Further afield are day trips to Alaska Conservation Center, Prince William Sound, Spencer Glacier, Kanai Lake, Seward, Resurrection Bay, and Exit Glacier. This is a charming and cozy A-frame on a quiet street, with fantastc mountain views. Clean, complete, with a good kitchen. Good owner communication. Comfortable sleeping for 2-4, albeit a little ragged around some edges. But why stay in Los Anchorage when you could stay 45 minutes away, in the mountains, with restaurants nearby? On the road to Whittier and Kenai.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in June. The place was great had everything we needed. The location was just what we were looking for a peaceful safe neighborhood with scenery. Even though we were technically out of season for skiing there were plenty stores and restaurants open close by. Checkout was easier than anywhere we have stayed. Take trash out thats it!!! Definitely would recommend and stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The property is easy to find and well situated in Girdwood. We didn’t use the loft area at all aside from opening the window to try and encourage airflow. It is a bit of squeeze up the ladder to get up to the loft. The good:House was clean and bed was comfortable. Having a full kitchen while traveling is always nice even if it’s just for reheating leftovers. Washer and dryer both worked well and the host had some soap on hand. The bathroom also had body wash, shampoo, and conditioner on hand.The Bad:The pictures on the listing for summer time, hide the fact that there is a tree right in the middle of your view when you’re on the deck. Also the deck and deck furniture were not in great shape while we were there, so we didn’t spend any time on it outside of coming and going. The shower head needs to be replaced or cleaned due to hard water calcifying on it, making for a pretty lackluster/awkward shower. While the bed on the main floor is comfortable, there’s no airflow even with the window open and fan in the main space turned to high. Having a small fan for each of the rooms would make the experience much more pleasant. We conveyed our disappointment and this feedback to the host and they say they’re working to resolve these issues. But if they aren’t resolved the nightly rate we paid leaves a sour taste for our experience.
