Cozy into Kara’s Cottage in Johnson City! This adorable 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage sleeps up to 3 guests and makes for a perfect romantic retreat or a small family. For larger groups, Kara’s House (which can be rented separately) is located next door and can be rented along with Kara’s Cottage! Experience the unique experience of tiny living at Kara’s Cottage!
Kara’s Cottage has a cute seating area in a courtyard in the front area of the home and is surrounded by enchanting trees, adding to the magic of this home! The Cottage has an amazing ability to fit so many unique and wonderful features in such a humble space! Walking inside, you enter into an adorable sunroom with a dining area and electric fireplace! This space is a quiet area to enjoy your morning coffee as you wake up for your next adventure into Johnson City! Heading into the main living area of the house, the wood cabin style of the home invites you into the cozy atmosphere of Kara’s Cottage. Off to the left is the kitchen with windows looking out onto the sunroom. Complete with a full-sized refrigerator and cooktop stove, this corner kitchen has everything you need for your stay! The living space is complete with two comfortable armchairs and a flatscreen television. You can also watch a movie from your bed as this open concept space features a twin bed as well! The second bed is tucked into a clever cubby in the back of the cottage featuring a full sized bed. Guests will find a roomy closet in this space for any of their storage needs during their stay. Lastly, a spacious full bathroom is located in the back of the cottage, complete with a walk-in shower!

Only blocks away is the downtown square, home to fabulous restaurants, shops, tasting rooms and live music venues. Pedernales State Park is only minutes away and offers hike-and bike trails, tubing, fishing, and swimming, plenty of outdoor fun for everyone. Visit the LBJ Ranch, home of President Johnson, also called “The Texas White House” this beautiful ranch offers guided or self tours and much more. For wine lovers, visit Texas Hills Vineyard and enjoy local wine in a beautiful setting. The Science Mill offers fun for both young and old with many interactive activities. The Exotic Resort Zoo offers safai-like jeep tours and is home to over 700 animals. Kara’s Cottage was a cute & tidy little cabin on the same lot as another rental residence. It still feels private enough. It had everything I needed to set out from a comfortable base camp & relax in the evenings including air conditioned tranquility, starter toiletries & supplies (which I didn’t go through), a comfortable bed, plenty of cookware & dishes, & easy directions for using the smart TV and wifi. I loved seeing deer with their fawns on the property as I sat outside yet the property was close enough to drive easily to downtown Johnson City. It is also only less than half an hour in every direction to state parks in the area. Overall a great value for the price!

Second time staying. Great location and privacy

The carpets had sticker burs on them and the coffee pot had not been cleaned. The bathroom stayed very warm and I prefer to not have have AC window units. The setup for relaxing and watching movies was conducive and therefore not as relaxing as we hoped. With two people in the full size bed it was very difficult for that second person to crawl out of the bed. The interior door knob came off the first time we touched it but we managed to repair it so that we could lock the unit up that night before bed. The amenities and thought put into the place is lacking but it meets the essential needs.
