Surf Station is a small collection of private apartments in Santa Barbara’s West Beach neighborhood, managed by Maza Hospitality. Unit B is entirely your own — you won’t share a hallway, kitchen, or bath.
Sleeping:

Living room: queen sofa bed (pull-out)
Sleeps up to 4 — the pull-out is great for kids. All beds made up with hotel-grade linens; the bedroom mattress is brand new.

A fully renovated 1-bedroom tucked into a tropical courtyard, steps from the beach. Full living room, fast WiFi throughout, and a bathroom stocked with Public Goods products.
Kitchen:
Full kitchen, stocked for real cooking — cookware, bakeware, knives, utensils, plates, glassware, coffee and wine glasses. Nespresso machine with a starter set of pods, plus a kettle. Dishwasher, full-size fridge, oven, and stovetop. Salt, pepper, oil, and basic pantry staples on hand.
Shared courtyard:
Gas BBQ, picnic table, fountain, and overhead string lights, shared with the other Surf Station apartments.
Parking:
One free private parking spot is included — a convenience guests consistently call out, since street parking in West Beach is genuinely difficult.
Getting around:
Funk Zone tasting rooms and restaurants: ~5 min walk
West Beach and Stearns Wharf: ~10 min walk
Downtown / State Street: ~10 min walk
Amtrak Santa Barbara station: directly across the street. Once you’ve parked, you can leave the car for the weekend.
Check-in:
Self check-in after 4:00 PM. Checkout by 11:00 AM. We send door codes and directions on the day of arrival.
Pre-check-in:
After booking, we ask you to complete a quick pre check-in: a photo ID upload and a $1 security deposit hold. It takes about two minutes.
Good to know:
This is a lively, downtown-adjacent neighborhood. You’ll hear some city sound, including the occasional train — if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Please note: the units come with fans but do not have air conditioning. There are exterior security cameras on the property. None are inside the unit. Pets are welcome — there is a $75 pet fee for the stay. Maximum 4 guests. No parties or events.

It was just my teen and me. We were either a short walk or an Uber away from everything. The walk to the beach was short and easy, and it is a gorgeous beach!! My son is gluten free and fell in love with all of the choices including the 2 Lilac restaurants that are 100% gluten free. The unit does have a bit of a musty smell for those that are sensitive, but I just bring my air purifier when I travel and didn't have any problems. Thank you!!

We had a great stay here! The apartment was just right for our family of four-cozy, comfy, and the best part? You’re literally steps away from the beach and surrounded by awesome restaurants & breweries. We walked everywhere, which is so convenient.One thing to keep in mind: the parking alley is super narrow. Our truck (5.5ft bed) barely made the turn, doing a multi-point maneuver worthy of a driving test! Definitely doable, but worth knowing ahead of time if you have a larger vehicle. On the bright side, once you’re in, there’s plenty of parking and the neighborhood is nice and peaceful.Overall, we had a lovely time and I won't mind staying at the same place again.

It was perfect for our weekend getaway! We were able to walk to our destinations. The condo was a good size for the 3 of us. It is very close to the train station and we heard the horns and announcements, but it didn’t disturb our sleep at all. The house is pretty well insulatd. We had a good trip!.
