About this house rental
Life is sweet at Salt Box, a semi-oceanfront home with private pool in central Nags Head. This charming cottage was moved from the original location in South Nags Head to its new home on a corner lot just east of the popular Blue Moon Beach Grill. The Small Street beach access is just a 4-minute walk from the house, and the pedestrian crosswalk along with multi-use path make it safe and easy to get there. After a day of sun, sand and waves, come back to Salt Box and take a refreshing dip in your very own private pool. Inside, relax with loved ones in the tastefully furnished open-concept living area, or get dinner started in the well-equipped kitchen. The chef in your group will appreciate the center island for plenty of prep space along with stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. The den can serve as an additional hangout space and is furnished with a desk for staying caught up with work or school remotely. The primary bedroom features a private half bath, as well as access to a hall bath with walk-in shower. Three additional bedrooms and a second full bath will comfortably accommodate family and friends.
Situated on the beach road at Milepost 13.5, Salt Box is within a mile radius of some of the best shopping, dining and attractions that Nags Head has to offer. Nearby restaurants include Mulligan's, Dune Street Rawbar & Grill, and of course the popular Blue Moon Beach Grill right down the street. Several shopping centers are also close by including Kitty Hawk Kites, Surfside Plaza and The Outer Banks Mall, where you can grab your groceries and a dozen Duck Donuts for breakfast. Be sure to set aside a day to explore the other side of the island at Jockey's Ridge State Park, just a 4-minute drive from Salt Box. Climb the dune for a bird's eye view of Nags Head or use the park's public sound access to launch kayaks, SUP's or simply admire the phenomenal sunsets.

House was super nice and clean. Looked like the pictures online. Beds were super soft and everyone slept great. All the bedrooms had tvs which was a plus. Just a few negatives: they provide each guest with one set of towels. So bring laundry detergent. They provide nothing extra. 2 trash bags and a roll of paper towels and whatever toilet paper was left so we had to buy a lot of essentials for place. The pool was supposed to be a heated pool and it was freezing. They said they sent someone over to turn it on but it never got warm enough to get in. And never communicated if it was done or not after several messages to them. Walk to beach is a good .25 of a mile and no parking so either bring something to cart it or plan on driving to a location with parking. With elderly it wasn’t conductive for us. Would stay there again. And recommend it.
