About this apartment rental

Located in a residential building designed in 1938 by the Architect Juan Talavera y Heredia, one of the greatest exponents of the Regionalist style in Seville.

Juan Talavera was a contemporary of the Architects José Espiau and Aníbal González, the latter, without a doubt, the most recognized architect of the period (Author of the Plaza de España in the María Luisa Park). The style was considered official status during the preparations for the Ibero-American Exposition by the Seville City Council from 1912, which recommended the use of local historical elements and the rejection of Modernism. It can also be seen in other works by Juan Talavera, such as the Costurero de la Reina building, next to the María Luisa Park, the San Bernardo Bridge or the Telefónica Building in the Plaza Nueva, next to the Seville City Council. The Talavera Architect can be considered one of the most important representatives of this style, and his work as Architect of the Town Hall for thirty years was decisive in the transformation of the city at that time.

Apartment
In addition to the quality in the design of the building, the Apartment has been recently completely renovated. It is an Apartment that is offered with higher standards than usual, in which art and design lovers will be able to enjoy furniture and objects from the best designers and architects of the 20th century, Alvar Aalto, Hans Wegner, Lucian Ercolani, Alberto Lievore, Kofod Larsen, José A. Coderch, etc. as well as work done by the hostess.

Fully furnished, it features high ceilings and modern interiors with high quality finishes. In addition, it is very bright and offers great views through large windows and south-facing balconies, surrounded by orange trees that bring the characteristic orange blossom smell of the city.

It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an independent kitchen and a living-dining room. The 30m2 living-dining room, with large windows and balconies to the street, has a Loewe plasma TV, two sofas for your relaxation, and a dining table for 6 diners. The kitchen is fully equipped and separated from the living-dining room. The 18m2 master suite has a 135 x 190 double bed, a large built-in wardrobe and a separate bathroom inside. The second 12m2 bedroom has two 105x190 single beds, a large built-in wardrobe and a large glass front to the outside. A second independent bathroom is available next to access to this second bedroom.

The apartment is located on the "Main" level of the building, equivalent to the first floor and has access adapted for wheelchair users and an elevator.

Due to its magnificent location, the distance to the most important monumental places in the city is 10 min. on foot, such as the Plaza de España and the María Luisa Park, one of the best Monuments and Parks in the world; the Reales Alcázares in Seville built by the Muslims and one of the best examples of Mudéjar Architecture, the colossal Gothic Cathedral traced over the remains of the old mosque and currently the largest Catholic Cathedral in the world; and the Torre del Oro and the Giralda, two of the best symbols of the defensive and symbolic architecture of the Almohad dynasty.

We found the flat very conveniently placed: the airport bus stops very near, there are 2 MAS supermarkets within walking distance ( Carlos V and Menendez Pelayo), and the historic centre is 10 minutes walk away. The flat is well furnished , clean and easy to live in. The kitchen is rather small and we did miss not having a dishwasher. We did have problems with the electricity: the power cut out very easily, for instance if a heater and toaster were on together. There are instructions about what to do if this happens, and the owners were helpful. Be sure you know what to do if this happens. We were there in January and found the heating insufficient. It would be fine later in the year. Altogether we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the flat with the above provisos.
