About this house rental

Between Luberon and Alpilles, in the countryside between Cavaillon and Isle sur la Sorgues with its Provencal markets, the village of antique shops, beautiful Provencal house of 150 sqm air-conditioned (refreshing floor) on 5000m ² of land, with private pool overflow secured by barrier , 120 m² of terraces including 30 m² covered, electric gate with videophone, 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (bath and Italian shower), 2 separate toilets, lounge, dining room (direct access pool), fully equipped kitchen overlooking the covered terrace, storeroom. WIFI connection.

You can stroll in the villages of the Luberon, discover Gordes and its Bories, Roussillon and its ochres, Rustrel and its Provencal Colorado, without forgetting Oppede the Old, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Coutelet and its famous Farmers Markets and many other villages perched at hollow of the Luberon.
You can discover Avignon and its famous festival, the Palace of the Popes, the bridge St Benezet, its many museums, its opera only 20 minutes but also the wine route with the famous vineyards of Châteauneuf du Pape, Rasteau, Beaume of Venice. ... and Mont Ventoux
At only 20 minutes a walk invites you in the Alpilles by way of St Remy de Provence, Les Baux, Eygalières, the mill of Daudet ....
You can also discover the Camargue with its horses, rice paddies, bulls, beaches, Saintes Marie of the sea, Arles ... about 1 hour.
The blue coast with Marseille and its creeks, Cassis, Carry le Rouet, Sausset the pines ... are also 1 hour drive

The description states “a beautiful air conditioned property”.That is inaccurate,so if you don’t like sleeping in hot bedrooms then this is not for you.The description of refreshing tiles,simply is not air conditioning.We booked the property based on the fact that it was “air conditioned” and was a family get together,both my daughter and her friend and my daughter,husband and my one year old grandson. The owners let out the property for 2 month of the summer. The weather for the area was typically hot and sunny for the week we stayed,with high30’s temperatures most of our 7 night stay.Because of the ineffectiveness of the cooling system they use we ended up buying 2 electric fans from the nearby Auchan supermarket.My wife and daughter at one point in the middle of the night ended up lying on the “refreshing flooring” to cool down.We are seasoned travellers and have rented properties in France and Italy with true air conditioning,we are not afraid to pay for the pleasure either,but this property at £270 per night was not worth it.We texted the owners early in our stay that we were not happy with the property and they very quickly came over to explain how the cooling system worked and it would give us a guaranteed 23 degrees minimum at night.That never happened as 25 degree was about the lowest achieved. The owners did not leave us with any cleaning products such as washing up liquid,washing powder,dishwasher tablets,which in other properties we have stayed in there are usually the rudimentary cleaning products,so we had to purchase these from the supermarket.We were then charged 100 euros for cleaning and an extra 150 euros for paint damage,we are waiting for photo proof. The beds in two of the bedrooms small doubles with hard uncomfortable mattresses.Also the WiFi was totally erratic with around 80% of the time not working,to which the owners stated that “it was the south of France”... There are some good positives,the pool area is very good and an great place to cool off.There is a covered area to eat al fresco.There is a large watered garden area and ample parking,The position of the property is ok,not to isolated and close to the main town. So what should have been an amazing experience was sullied by the simple fact that we booked the property advertised under false expectations.A shame because it is obvious the owners are a hard working couple.We will in future seriously consider using Homeaway again after this experience.

The owner Christophe and I agree that hassle free and memorable holidays are so important and that is what we got at this beautiful home , with private pool set in large private grounds with a backdrop of Mount Ventoux and yet very close to all amenities in Cavaillon and a great base to explore the region. Cathy and Christophe were the perfect hosts, charming and welcoming whilst being very discreet and yet on hand if required. Their aim was to make us feel at home and they certainly did that. Their home surpassed my expectations, the advert does not do justice to the interior and exterior space, everywhere was very clean, very well equipped and one of the quietest locations I have spent a holiday, yet only a short bike ride to the centre of Cavaillon with great restaurants, bakers, shops, cafe bars and a choice of very good supermarkets. We enjoyed 2 weeks of superb weather and the infinity pool which was war and very clean was a great respite from the Provence sun. I have fond memories of my occasional meetings and conversations with Christophe as we both practiced each other's language. We took advantage of the invitation to pick fresh tomatoes from the owners farm next door and they were the centre piece of our evening salad. I have no reservations in recommending this beautiful home as a holiday rental and thank Cathy and Christophe for a great holiday.

We have just come back from a lovely week at this property. Cathy and Christophe could not of been more welcoming and kind. The property was ideal and the pool just what we needed in the hot, sunny weather. I would certainly recommend this holiday to anyone.
