It is an ideal location just next to wild horses and open spaces, with beautiful beaches and less traffic! It is located less than two miles from the Currituck Lighthouse and historic Corolla Village with its quaint shops, restaurants, summer festivals, museums and Whalehead Club. Prefer the company of nature? Walk roughly 15 minutes down the beach and cross into the wild horse sanctuary to watch for the famous Corolla wild horses which roam here - or hike the adjoining boardwalk maritime forest trail for a stunning sunset.
Want to relax at home? You have so many choices! Anchors Away is not only close to the beach access – have your toes in the sand in no time with only 3 houses between you and the ocean - but you also have your own private pool with ample patio seating, string lighting, fans, and a picnic table and hot tub. There are enough decks to spread out and enjoy the view, with glimpses of the ocean and lighthouse - and a screened in porch to enjoy the great sea breezes and sunsets. We had a great stay at Anchors Away! The house was as pictured, clean, and a great location just a 5 min walk to the beach. The check in process and rental company communications were easy. We have a few suggestions for improvement—refurbishing the steps up to front door, adding another large skillet to the kitchen, providing more than 1 towels and washcloth per guest. We’d happily stay here again.

We absolutely LOVED staying here and will be coming back. Check in was a pain since the code they gave me was wrong but after that zero problems. Wish the trip could have lasted longer!

The property was well maintained and had everything you needed for a fun beach experience, had beach chairs and boogie boards, pool noodles and floats and toys. The kitchen is well stocked with 2 coffee makers and a crockpot and lots of plates and Dolby and charcoal grill supplies.
We had a great week. The beach access is 1 house away to the trail to the beach which is a 5 minute walk down a sandy trail.
Bring your own cleaning supplies and pot scrubber and soap and toilet paper as there’s only 1 roll in each bathroom.
There’s also a lot of games and a whole Xbox set up with 4 controllers and games, lots of dvds too.
Beautiful house, lots of room to spread out.
