About this villa rental
Casa 23 boasts magnificent uninterrupted views across the valley of Lake Vinuela to Mount Maroma. It is stepped into the hillside on the outskirts of the typical Spanish whitewashed village of Los Romanes. Casa 23 has a private 8 x 4 pool with shallow steps to a graduated pool from appx 1metre to 1.8metres in depth. There are many large terraces with ample room for sunbathing or shade. There is a covered part of the terrace which offers shade and ideal for alfresco dining. There is also a brick built BBQ.
The villa is well equipped with Air con to all bedrooms and sitting room ( these can also be used as heating in the winter). There is free Wifi, UK TV channels and bluetooth speaker.
The sitting/dining room has 2 large sofas and 2 easy chairs, dining table with 6 chairs, TV, DVD player, bluetooth speaker. The stairs can be secured by using the stair gate when little ones are about(available on request). The patio doors lead out onto the shaded veranda of the upper terrace which has a dining table and 6 chairs plus some cane chairs for more comfort. There are many games, books and binoculars in the cupboard for the guests use. Oh and a large log burner for winter evenings. Plus a fire extinguisher.
The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, freezer, large fridge, cooker with gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, juicer etc. Plus lots of worktops and cupboard space. We generally have a well stocked herb/spice cupboard and all tea/coffee essentials. All cleaning products are supplied.
There is a fire blanket and extinguisher.
The master bedroom has a 2metre bed which can be split into 2 singles if so desired. This bedroom has and ensuite wet room. Plus ample wardrobe space. There are double doors that lead onto the lower terrace, with views to the Lake and Mount Maroma
Bedroom 2 has a 1.90metre double bed with views to the lake too. Fitted wardrobe.
Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds, fitted wardrobe with inbuilt safe
Family bathroom with shower over.
The villa is double glazed with tilt and turn windows all are fitted with sun roller blinds and mosquito blinds.
There are many terraces to find shade and relax there is a mature garden with rotary washing line. Below the pool area there is an Olive/Almond grove, beautiful in spring with the almond blossom. If you lose your ball in there when in the pool you will not get it back!
The pool area is gated and secure. There is a life saving ring attached to the wall. There is an outside shower.
We provide all bed linen, towels and pool towels.

This is a lovely property set in what for us was an ideal location. A quiet street in a quiet Spanish village with amazing views across the reservoir to the valley beyond.
It is the best equipped property we've rented and we loved that the owner does not have everything swept out of the cupboards. So we found non-perishables such as herbs and spices, oils and vinegars in the cupboard. A quick check of expiry dates and we could use what we needed and then replace if necessary. Much less wasteful.
If you're looking for the razzmatazz of the resorts on the coast then this isn't the property for you. If you're looking to kick back, relax by the pool and have an authentic Spanish experience then you will be happy here. The village shop sells just about everything and the walk up the hill means you can enjoy your Spanish breakfast knowing you've earned it.
Just a note that the property is on three levels, so it's not for those with mobility issues.

The property and location exceeded our expectation. Absolutely wonderful . Simon is a great host and the property comes with thoughtful touches such as a welcome pack, wine and some food items. The information folder is comprehensive regards the property and local area. Will definitely be returning.

We had a great holiday staying here as a party of four adults and two young children. The villa is in a small town high in the hills so you definitely need use of a car - for us it was around 50 minutes’ drive from Malaga airport. The setting is so peaceful and often we could hear nothing but birdsong. It’s built over three levels and the views are fabulous from every viewpoint. It was very clean and comfortable and everything we could have needed was provided. The kitchen is very well equipped and there’s plenty of patio furniture and sun beds on the terraces. There’s a small shop close by and large supermarkets are around 20 minutes drive away back near the coast. We loved the spacious pool and spent a lot of time in it - in fact both the children learned to swim during our stay! As it was so hot the air conditioning was welcome in the bedrooms at night. There was a problem with the unit in the living room but Simon sorted this as soon as he could and he was very quick to respond and help with any queries we had. The bed in the second bedroom is in fact a double bed and not king sized but all the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this lovely villa, you will find everything you need there and you will never get tired of those views!
