120m2 detached house with PRM access facing the Pape Clément vineyards

Everything about it was beyond expectations from the wonderful hosts to the beautiful property itself.

Beautiful property with perfect hosts. Ideally situated just a short (15 min) walk to train and tram station. Would definately recommend.

We had no problem at all with property - it was actually a lot larger than it appears in the photos on the listing. It was all very clean and comfortable. It’s location overlooking the vineyard and quiet road made for a very peaceful locationThe only difficulty during our stay was the very high temperatures which we had not anticipated. Well over 30 most days and this made the walk to the centre quite hard work! Obviously the unusual heat during the day was not the responsibility of our hosts, nor the property.The thunderstorm on last evening and night of our stay was certainly spectacular with largest hail stones I had ever seen!

We selected this area to allow us to drive to the various wine areas outside Bordeaux city (Medoc, St Emilion, Barsac). It is a bustling suburb and you can get where you are going (with nav) relatively easy. That being said once at the gite, things you may need (groceries) during your stay also requires a drive ( or transit if that’s your preference). We didn’t find much within walking distance. The gite is modestly equipped and furnished. The automated shutters that roll down over all the doors and windows ensures darkness for sleep. The location as described we found slightly misleading, while the house faces the vineyard, none of the windows on the lower level do. And certainly the back garden does not, it faces the neighbours. For others that have a car, be aware that you must drive down a very narrow public lane way, then reverse back through the driveway gate. Even in our rented Peugeot 308 it took 3-4 swipes. Luckily there is not much traffic on the lane way, but it’s a precarious move to say the least. Once (of the 4-5 times we did this move), we held up our share of traffic and that was certainly uncomfortable. At night it felt quite unsafe. Practice would certainly make the task easier, but who has that as short term renters. The hosts are very warm and helpful, they really want their guests to enjoy their stay.
