About this house rental
Just above the beach at the quiet north end of Sayulita Bay, set in a lush tropical garden, under a giant Fig Tree you will find El Templito (The Little Templito). There are great ocean views, a swimming pool, sunsets and balmy sea breezes.
Stately Cantera stone stairs lead down from vine covered parking area above, to a lovely little courtyard filled with tropical plants. Beautiful hand carved Cantara stone columns support the tile roof covering the open-air combination kitchen/living/dining room. The surrounding arches frame the lovely views looking out on the hills of Sayulita, the tropical gardens, the private pool, and the ocean and beach views. There are Mexican tiled counters and modern appliances in the well-equipped kitchen.
Just off the patio is a small wading pool above the larger, deeper pool. You can see the beach from the pool.
A cobblestone stairway leads down through lush gardens of heliconia, palms, and gingers to your own private stairway to the north end of Sayulita beach (Playa Norte) and trails to the pristine beaches to the north. Templito has two air conditioned King size bedrooms that are in separate, adjacent buildings. Each suite has gracious Mexican tiled bathrooms with showers, comfortable king size beds, handmade local hardwood furniture and regional artwork. There are fans, air-conditioning and safes in both bedrooms.
The house has bath and beach towels, bed linens, purified, reverse osmosis filtered drinking water, and maid service.
There is Fiber optic WI Fi internet access.
Iris the property manager can arrange preparation of delicious meals of the local cuisine. She can also arrange airport pickup, golf cart rentals, in house massages, fishing trips, etc.
Templito is a perfect getaway for two couples, a couple with an older child or friend, or honeymooners. (Due to the separate bedrooms and the open architecture, we do not recommend this house for small children unless they are in the same room, or you have a baby cam)
Templito is a peaceful, tranquil retreat where body and soul can relax, watch and listen to the ocean waves, the whales, exotic jungle and sea birds, and spectacular sunsets. El Templito is a the perfect place to be at peace and harmony with nature and enjoy beautiful Sayulita.

Wonderful authentic casita nestled amongst larger homes and above an absolutely stunning beach. We loved the open-air living spaces & secure and comfy sleeping quarters while enjoying the quieter (North) end of Sayulita. The owner has put a lot of love into the home with just a few updates needed for maximizing comfort :) The shower was rather noisy (it kind of screams at you due to air in the pipes) and there are a few electrical issues outdoors preventing step lights and table lamps from being turned on. An orientation book would be welcomed :) My guests LOVE it for recommendations and encourages guest self-reliance. Alternatively, Iris could swing by for a quick orientation... Overall, a truly special find and we loved our time there!!! Thank you!

We enjoyed this house so much. It was a great location close to the beach, nice dining options, the beds were super comfortable. We loved the black and white cat the hung around every evening. The house and pool were beautiful. I would 100% recommend this house.

The place has some real old world charm, but unfortunately so does the bedding. Both mattresses were extremely uncomfortable as were the pillows. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but even a very basic modern mattress would be an upgrade here.
We were also disappointed that the dryer did not work and was not fixed, despite asking the property manager. This made it pretty difficult for us to clean and dry swimwear and towels appropriately for a beach trip.
The only other negative is that if you get any rain whatsoever it’s going to make it a very uncomfortable stay - anything in the outdoor kitchen area will get wet and there are some leaks in the ceiling in the upper bedroom house.
Overall, this place has the potential to be a great place to stay in Sayulita - the location is good, the pool is nice, it’s charming and well decorated, you have direct beach access, and the layout is definitely unique and good for what’s mentioned in the listing, couples and adult families. But I feel like just a bit more care and investment needs to be put into the property for the asking price.
