About this house rental
The Babette (Hebrew: God’s Promise) is a newly built family home. The original house was built in 1967 but as the years went by we rebuilt in 2017 and joined the VRBO family January 2018. This private home is a Family Oasis and we’ve decided to share this beautiful experience with our guest.

The space
Our humble abode is centrally located in the heart of San Ignacio Town, with that said it’s a perfect point to start exploring this Town of ours as it’s a stone’s throw away from down town with a 2-10 minutes’ walk to all major tourist attraction

Spacious, comfortable, relaxing with a home away from home experience would best describe this house. The entire home is fully equipped for families with children, couples, singles or a group of friends, to be specific it fits 10 guest with comfort. Air-condition unit in all 3 bedrooms as well as kitchen and living area. Your kitchen is fully equipped with granite counter tops, stove, refrigerator, microwave, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, plates and a double sink. A small dining area which seats 4 is also perfect for meals. We also share this space with our living room provided with cable television and a wide variety of channels... It s a home where you can spend quality time, bonding with family n friends while in comfort. I must mention we have 2 huge terrace with hammocks and outdoor furniture which is perfect for relaxing with views of our famous Macal River Park as well as the very friendly neighborhood.

7 day stay: Great location, easy to walk to town. No car required for local activities. The photos matched the house. Just a few tips based on travel experience- we were a party of 10 for 7 days. Needed more paper products pre-stocked. Really needed extra towels pre-stocked considering the climate and the number of adventures we did. Overall will recommend, comfortable stay.

We booked The Babette for my brother’s family of 6 and me. We were so happy with the spacious, large, and clean accommodations. I stayed upstairs and had the king bed/bathroom and access to both patios. My brother and his wife stayed in the room with the Queen bed (bathroom attached as well) and all four of my nephews staying in the room with two queen beds. There was water for us to drink, with a spare 5 gallon container and plenty of dishes to use (no dishwasher) for any food you want to make on your own. There aren’t laundry facilities but Melly, our host, let us know about Martha’s (a very short walk—maybe 3-4 blocks) and we dropped off two loads at 9am and were told to come back at 3 for them. It cost about 7 USD for each load. We loved this location. Everything was within walking distance. Super close to the market (across the park at the back of the house) and lots of restaurants to eat in, and tour companies. Mayawalk tours was 2 blocks down the same road from us—we used them for a couple tours. My nephews loved leaving on their own and heading to little times and markets to buy coke in the glass bottles. They were sad to leave The Babette and the town as this place felt safe and they liked leaving on their own for their own quick adventures. We absolutely loved our accommodations and the price we paid. It’s a great place to stay! Oh—AC units in every room that worked extremely well. Thanks, Melly! Our trip was perfect and partly bc of where we stayed!
