About this villa rental
Villa Douro is located in Acoteias, a small suburb of Albufeira, the tourist hub of the Algarve. About 7 kilometers from Albufeira, it is not at all in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city, but in a quiet residential area with other villas and vacation homes/apartments. The beach is easily accessible in just a few minutes on foot (about 500 m). The sandy beach, typical of this part of the Algarve with its dramatic cliff, is kept clean at all times and offers an ideal spot for sunbathing and relaxing. The “center” of Acoteias is just a few steps away, where you’ll find several restaurants serving traditional Portuguese and international cuisine in a cozy atmosphere, as well as smaller bars, shops, and a supermarket with a bakery.
Aside from the optional use of air conditioning, all additional costs are included in the rental rates. For the use of air conditioning (most guests use the air conditioning for heating in the winter rather than for cooling in the summer), we charge 10.00 euros per day of use. The rental rates include the following services: electricity, natural gas, water, bed linens (changed once a week), towels, and beach towels (not for use at the beach). Kitchen towels are provided. Our housekeeper and gardener come for about 2 hours a day (except on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays): daily cleaning of the bedrooms and bathrooms, cleaning of other rooms as needed, and maintenance of the garden and pool. Free Wi-Fi.

Villa is in excellent location. Close to restaurants and shops. Pool area is 5 star, good size pool and gets the sun all day. Villa is a little dated inside. Needs some upgrading. Had a issue with TV during our stay( was hoping to watch the later kick offs for world cup games on) that was reported but not fixed during our time there. Villa was clean and has plenty space.

Our stay at this vacation rental was unfortunately not as comfortable as we had hoped. As the first guests of the season, we arrived to find the property quite cold and damp, which made settling in difficult.More concerning was that both the heating and hot water systems were not working upon arrival. This made the first part of our stay especially uncomfortable. To the owner’s credit, they were responsive and managed to get the hot water fixed within a few days, which we appreciated. However, the heating system was not repairable during our stay, and the property remained quite chilly throughout.While we understand that unexpected maintenance issues can happen—especially at the start of a season—this did have a significant impact on our overall experience. On the positive side of things, the owner was very understanding and offered us a fair financial compensation for our discomfort. Due to the great loaction to the beach & other amenties we decided to stay. I would recommend this property to VRBO renters looking for a large property for 8 people. We ere 8 adults and had lots of room. If not for the heating issue I would be giving this property a 4.5 rating.
