Charming T2 Apartment Sea And Mountain View

It was a nice house, in a quied neighbourhood, with a lot of privacy and a beautiful vieuw

The apartment is chic and well-equipped and was ideal for me, as I wanted my holiday to be a mixture of reading/relaxing and day trips. The patio has views of the sea and of the mountains, which is ideal for reading, and there is a main railway station (Biguglia) about 15 minutes walk away (for trips to Calvi and Ajaccio) as well as a local 'request stop' railway station (Casatorra) about 10 minutes walk away (for access to Bastia). A Carte Zoom, valid for 7 days on the railway network, was good value at 49 Euros (it's best to buy it as soon as you get to Bastia, as there is no ticket office at Casatorra and the ticket office at Biguglia is open only on weekdays; Bastia station also has print-outs of the timetables for both local and long-distance trains). I don't drive (I'm the first person to stay at the apartment who doesn't drive!) but the owners were kind enough to drive me to the shops on arrival so I could buy food and wine (the Spar shop at the bottom of the hill in the village centre is well-stocked with wine, cheese, fresh bread and other items) and I made day trips to St Florent, Calvi and Ajaccio by public transport (enter 'corsica bus' in Google or whatever for really useful bus and train timetables). As a heavy smoker the walk up the hill to the apartment was a bit of a challenge for me but it's not that arduous and is very scenic. Unless you have a mobility impairment or wish to visit non-major sites it's not a problem being without a car. The owners are lovely people who live next door to the apartment and were very helpful and charming throughout my stay.
