House Arcachon 3 * with garden, near the city center and port Larros

Lovely hosts. Very genial and welcoming and, in fact, generous. It was a great introduction to the area. Everything in the property was as described. A good choice.

We enjoyed our stay in this traditional french house. We also enjoyed many evenings sitting on the patio or in the quirky bath chairs! The house was also lovely and cool inside even when it got really hot. The surrounding area was very beautiful and we felt that having bicycles was essential as the traffic was really bad at times. Gujan Mestras itself is a very quiet little town with only a few restaurants dedicated to serving Oysters but the bustling town of Arcachon was easily reached by train on bicycle. The Archachon basin is beautiful and lots of activities around. There was a nice beach about a 15 minute bike ride away but you can only swim when the tide is in.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay at Villa Jean André. It was comfortable, well-equipped and well-located (just a short walk from the ports, train station and excellent local market). It was also beautifully cool inside despite the hot weather. Our two-and-a-half year old daughter loved playing in the garden, and we loved eating out on the deck as the sun went down. Bruno and Béatrice are very welcoming hosts who speak good English. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.
