The apartment we stayed in did not correspond with the pictures shown on the website. The owner of the apartment clearly has more than one property in the same location. The owner was friendly and helpful and the price of the apartment was reasonable. The interior was clean and comfortable and well lit, but it would have to be.
However, the only light into the apartment is through north facing windows and the bedroom has no window at all. Basically, it's one large room which has been subdivided. The result is that the bedroom is rather dark and stuffy, with no possibility of ventilation, although a fan is provided.
The main problem is the location of the apartment. True, it's close to the centre of Corte, but it's located in a series of converted industrial buildings. Don't expect some sort of gentrified mill conversion - the buildings still look like sheds. The apartment is adjacent to the towns road salt distribution depot and immediately next door is a commercial ambulance depot with vehicles constantly arriving and departing and staff talking and shouting. Added to that, the creaking floorboards in the apartment above meant that your sleeping hours were determined by your neighbours.
The outside yard, despite the view of the mountains was not a place you would choose to sit for an extended period, especially as there were 3 or 4 vehicles parked there for most of the time. For us, this didn't matter much as we were out in the mountains all day (the apartment is well located for this). If, however, you are a person who likes to spend time around your apartment sitting outside and chilling out, this is not the place for you.The immediate surroundings are rather scruffy.
