Definitely rustic! There is no air conditioning, so on days with little breeze you will want to close the shutters on the sunny side and be in the pool. There are two buildings separated by a covered patio, so plenty of privacy for couples. Our family of 9 was not at all crowded. The property is far enough from town that cell service was spotty at best. The only issue we faced was the internet was out (animal damage to the line!) and it took several days for the "cable guy" to get there. Christian and Sophie were very helpful.

We stayed here so our families can visit, great location, beautiful environment and the setting is ideal for multi-family hosting. Christian checked on us to ensure everything was doing OK and we all enjoyed the stay very much. The house is beautiful, quiet and the pool is so nice! Highly recommend! Not to mention all the beautiful places around that our host recommended!

We spent a week in this nice and rustic property which is actually made of two houses, hidden on a little hill with no neighbours in sight and just the sound of the crickets. The house is well-equiped and the pool is gorgeous but there were quite a few little negatives which made it far too expensive for what it offered. We have been to quite a few different houses in the south of France and this one offered the least value for money. - When we arrived the electricity in one of the bedrooms and he adjacent shower room didn´t work and after a few mails with the owner (another disadvantage: no contact person near the place who could help quicker) we found a main switch the next morning which was well hidden to turn on the electricity. We hadn´t been aware that whoever had turned off this switch before had also turned of the water pump so that we had no running water during the night and in the morning. Unfortunately the water problem returned when the cisterns had run empty a day before our departure so that we had to use pool water for the toilets and couldn´t shower or do the washing up for a day. We were only 5 people and didn´t use an excessive amount of water so this shouldn´t happen. - at our arrival the bedlinen for the different beds was just piled up on a table and it was quite time-consuming to gather which sheets etc. belonged to which matress as they all had different sizes. We would´t have minded to make up our beds ourselves (we never had to do that before...) but somebody could at least have put the bedlinen onto the matching beds. - the two showers had no curtain or separation which wasn´t a problem in one of them but the other one was small and the water went all over the place while there was nothing at all to protect the floor and we had to use our towels to mop up the water. - using the dishwasher was more work than doing the washing up by hand as it did´t clean well at all so we gave up on it. - like most pools in France this one also had an alarm which was very difficult to suss out until we dared to jump in whithout, presumably, turning it off. It probably wasn´t working which was fine for us as we are all good swimmers but for children it would be quite dangerous. Despite the above we had a great time as the place is really nice and the location is wonderful if you want absolute relaxation and peace and quiet. A few improvements on the equipment and making sure that there is always running water would make it perfect.

What a wonderful home and property - conveniently located yet secluded and private. Christian was easy to communicate with the houses are exactly as described. We had a restful vacation sitting by the pool and cooking meals in the evenings after exploring Luberon towns during the days. Everything worked perfectly for us, except the wifi didn't work in the second building.

We stayed in this villa for 6 days in total and love every minute of it. The villa is split into 2 which makes it much more private. It's in a rural area (but not too far away from town), you will need a car though! It's very quiet and relaxing!! Downside is one bathroom with the bath in it needs refurbishing, as does one of the single rooms, but other than that it is VERY GOOD. Stay here if you're looking for a great break in the South of France!

We had a wonderful 3 day stay in this peaceful home outside of Gordes. Quiet and serene with all the amenities, including a pool. Cooked our meals in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoyed the nature preserve after day trips to all the surrounding medieval towns. Looking forward to returning!

"We spent a delightful two weeks at Les Bas Rescalets and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, the good sized swimmimg pool and the spacious accommodation. we had everything to satisfy our needs and are already looking forward to our next visit. The house was easy to find and is ideal for walks on the doorstep and for culture and history in the area. The nearby town of Cavaillon (20 minutes) has ample supermarkets and there are good local shops (3 km). The house has has wonderful views, including the Luberon range, and being up on the hills enjoys always a welcome breeze. Evenings with sunsets and bird song were stunning. We found it hard to leave at the end of our stay."
