Cloughton is a small village between the historical coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough, a haven for those wishing to explore the wonderful heritage coastline.. 3 steps to entrance.

External games room with fridge/freezer, table football and Space Invaders machine. Enclosed garden with patio, garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. The Old Barn is situated next to the Scarborough to Whitby road, which winds its way over the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The gravelled driveway provides parking for two cars, and on arrival you are sure to be delighted by the spacious garden overlooking rolling fields and attracting wildlife such as rabbits and deer. There is plenty of seating outside as well as a luxurious hot tub and barbecue, perfect for entertaining of an evening.
Stepping inside this one of a kind conversion is sure to make you feel inspired. The owners have beautifully furnished each room and every detail has been thoughtfully considered, with warm and inviting colours, exposed walls, well laid-out rooms and home-from-home comforts.
The living room has deep high quality sofas set around the wood burner, with glass doors opening out onto the landscaped garden. There are 2 steps from here up to the dining room, leading through to a well-equipped kitchen. Each bedroom is unique and lovingly furnished, enticing you to tumble into bed and become enveloped in soft opulent layers.
Cloughton has two friendly local pubs just a short stroll away. A little further along is Hayburn Wyke, a woodland walk with a waterfall cascading over the cliff top onto a secluded cove. There is an 18th-century coaching inn here, serving hearty meals as well as tasty desserts. Why not treat yourself to some food after a busy day of exploring? The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are scenic walking trails nearby, taking in Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay on the way towards the seafaring town of Whitby.
The North Yorkshire Moors National Park has some delightful little villages amongst the vast stretches of heather strewn hills and valleys. There is also the ancient Dalby Forest which has brilliant cycle and walking trails to be explored. Enjoy the great outdoors and take in your surroundings whilst having the most incredible base to return to, making your holiday one to treasure. Beach 1¾ miles. Shop ½ mile, pub 250 yards and restaurant 520 yards.

Overall the cottage was lovely, the overall look was so traditional and quaint of an old English cottage. From the large brick walls to the oak beams it is everything you would want from a cottage. Every room was beautifully decorated and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need out of a kitchen! We loved the games room and the amount of board games to choose from for a rainy day that we had. The views from the garden were fantastic which made for a lovely sunset every evening. Watching from the hot tub was also a nice touch. Perhaps the hot tub could be a bit more private from the main road with some higher trees planted!The only downsides was that in is located on a main road so when Lorrie’s would drive past from about 5am (we stayed mid week in the bedroom upstairs) you could hear them and the whole house felt like it rattled. But overall it was a gorgeous house and I would stay again!

Fabulous weekend, the cottage was delightful, great facilities all the home comforts and more in a lovely location. Great outdoor space, loved the games room and hot tub was a treat after a days walking. Can't wait to go back. Would be good if there was the option of different pillows as allergies to feather pillows was a slight issue.

Everything was spot on. House was clean comfortable and warm. The village is lovely and people were welcoming and friendly. Only downside for me was the shower is in fixed position and not adjustable but that’s a personal preference so not major. Would love to come back and highly recommend.
