About this apartment rental
With a truly extraordinary location, right on the sea, this property allows a special holiday, in a unique marine village and with a breathtaking view.
Casa della Marina was built in the XVIII century; originally it was used as an office by the shipping company of our family, then as a deposit of the tuna fishery, active until 1956.
To restore this property, we imagined a house, whose natural extension would have been the beach and the sea. The result was a simple beach house, with white walls and handmade Vietri tiles with blue and green patterns. Furnishing are kept to a minimum, in pure Mediterranean style. Inside and out there is an overwhelming sense of serenity and slow flow of time, away from the chaos of the city.
Imagine falling asleep with the sound of the waves in the background, having lunch on the beach, taking a bath at night or at dawn or enjoying a peaceful afternoon in a privileged position reading a book... this is what Casa della Marina offers.
The property has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and kitchen with dining area; it is located about 300 steps from the road and our rubberboat is available for guests to transport luggage by the sea on check in and check out. Street parking is included in the rental.

The location was fabulous. Just a short bus ride from Amalfi in one direction and Positano in the other.
There are 300 steps down to the property from the main road, there is no other access point except via water taxis, which you can organise each day.
We used the bus so those steps kept us fit during our stay, there are a further 700 steps up to the supermarket, that kept us even fitter lol
In the morning you have the cove all to yourself and we used to get up early for a lovely morning swim. There are 3 restaurants in the cove so from mid-morning it's a happy and vibrant place, as beachcomers and daytrippers arrive for the day. In the evening, people come to the cove in water taxis for dinner.
We were there for a week in summer and had a fabulous time. Stefano arranged a water taxi from/to Amalfi for check-in and check-out, which was so helpful as it's one thing navigating the steps with a day bag but quite another with cases too!
The accommodation is well equipped with an airconditioner in the main living area, and one in each bedroom. The windows have shutters which shut out the light and minimise any noise.
It's a beautiful place to stay, absolutely stunning in the evening when there's a full moon, as we were very fortunate to experience during our stay.

We had a lovely time did this beautiful apartment and it was so lovely to wake up in the morning and go for a swim before everyone else got up.

"We chose this apartment because of the location and we were not disappointed. The view is stunning and staying on the beach was a unique and beautiful experience. The apartment is clean, bright and tastefully renovated. Our host was extremely helpful with our booking and arranging our transportation to the location. There is some noise from the restaurant below at the weekend and the tv had no reception. It is also a long walk uphill to the nearest supermarket but none of these things bothered us. We loved the exercise gained by walking and you can get a water taxi to Amalfi for provisions. When you can step outside your front door to swim before breakfast or take a dip after dark, where there are 3 restaurants on your doorstep to eat in or takeaway pizza, well that is my idea of a perfect holiday."

"The house is very lovely, clean and modern, with a breathtaking panorama; very good kitchen facilities. The mood of the holiday was unique and special, staying just on the sea. The beach, at dawn and at sunset, has an incomparable beauty. The owner was really helpful, giving us a lot of suggestions and arranging for us a free of charge water taxi transportation for check in and check out."
