About this house rental
Welcome to the Day's Away River House, located on the beautiful Guadalupe River in Center Point, Texas. Center Point is situated halfway between Comfort and Kerrville and halfway between Bandera and Fredericksburg, only 50 minutes from San Antonio and approximately 30 minutes from Hunt, Texas. The water is deep and the river is wide at our breathtaking half acre retreat. You can barbecue, swim, tube, canoe, fish or just relax by the water. There is a wonderful upper deck & lower deckthat runs all the way across the back of the house that is covered. The perfect place to view the river and watch your kids bounce on the trampoline, swim, or jump off the dock into the river. We also have a rope swing and a slide into the river. Don't forget to bring the marshmallows to roast over the built-in fire pit on our large 2 level flagstone patios down by the water. Gas and charcoal bar-b-que pits too.
Our precious house is fully equipped to provide a marvelous vacation you'll never forget! ***The main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (sleeps 8). The master bedroom has a king size bed. The guest room has a queen size bed. The third bedroom has a double bed plus a set of bunk beds. There is one pack-n-play for your little one.
We also have an ***optional*** detached cabin with bath available (sleeps 4 more). Our detached cabin is located right next to the main house and features a queen bed plus a queen mattress in the loft. Kitchenette with coffee pot, microwave and small refrigerator. Smart TV, DVD, & VCR. ***We only rent the cabin as an add-on to the main house, please contact us for more details.
We are walking distance to the dam and a lighted public park.

We stayed at Day's Away so we could attend a weekend event at a nearby camp. It was the perfect place for us, giving us a beautiful view of the river from the beautiful house and porch. The kitchen was well-appointed, and the bedrooms matched our needs perfectly.

We were scheduled to stay there starting July 7th but due to the tragic flooding on July 4th, we were unable to visit the property. Becky was very kind and understanding and allowed a refund for our stay. We're going to give it a little time and try to rebook what looks like a fantastic property to visit.

We just returned from a truly unforgettable weekend at this beautiful river home. It was the perfect setting for a girls’ trip with lifelong friends all of us now in our 50s, reconnecting and relaxing together. The house was spotless, cozy, and clearly cared for with love and attention.The hosts went above and beyond to get everything ready for us after recent flooding in the area. Though the surrounding community experienced devastating loss, their home was safe and welcoming, and we’re so grateful for the chance to stay there. The resilience and warmth of the people in Center Point were incredibly moving we were touched by the community’s spirit and ongoing volunteer efforts.We especially loved the access to the Guadalupe River and the kayaks they provided. it was peaceful and absolutely beautiful. We felt truly spoiled!If you’re looking for a serene getaway with heart, hospitality, and riverfront beauty, this is the place. Highly recommend, we’ll be talking about this trip for a long time.

Didn't like - Communication - Wasted time on morning of travel confirming property instructions with VRBO call center
Didn't like - Mattress pads were dirty. Housekeeping needs to wash ALL bed linens. Not just top sheets.
DIdn't like - Smell - Faint smell of dead animal in wall or under floor. Owner attempted to cover it with plug-in air freshener. LIkely cause, owner uses rat bait poison.
