Nice room for the area good for a couple

Very clean and well kept. Loved getting into the hottub and having towels nearby was a bonus!

The check in process does not match VRBO norms or even the host’s eventual description. VRBO emails started 3 days in advance about contacting host for checkin details, but host eventually messaged that details are only provided 1 hour before checkin time. In fact these details were only sent well after checkin in response to text and email requests. While the accommodation itself was nice, the checkin experience left one feeling that it was a scam listing.The unusual checkin process should be clearly stated in the VRBO property description so that everyone has common expectations.

The main issue we experienced was with check-in communication. I booked about a month to a month and a half in advance, but on the day of arrival, I couldn’t locate any check-in instructions. I reached out to the host at 4:00 p.m. (check-in time) and didn’t receive a response. I followed up again at 7:00 p.m., still with no reply. After no response, we show up to the property around 7:30 p.m., we still hadn’t heard anything and had to ask someone nearby for help locating the owner. After a long drive, this made for a pretty frustrating start to our stay and meant we missed out on over three hours of our check-in time.What made this more disappointing was that nothing was offered to make up for the inconvenience...something as simple as a bottle of wine or even a small gesture like a local winery recommendation or tour would have gone a long way.That said, once we were settled, everything else was fine. If I could offer a couple of suggestions, upgrading the bed and adding a larger TV would make the stay even more comfortable, especially for winding down at night.I don’t typically leave reviews, but I felt this experience was important to share.
