About this house rental

Summary:

You won’t want to leave this handsome, 3-bedroom, 2-bath early 20th century cottage in the charming “Old North End” of Colorado Springs, noted for its historic homes and tree-lined streets. Private outdoor area, fully fenced in with a brand new grill and seating for 4 around a fire pit. Located at the heart of the city. 2 separate living areas with TVs, plus private bedroom TVs and 2 computer desks.

The Space:

Remodeled with the best vintage details preserved!

Lucky you! You’ll be staying in one of Colorado Springs’ most beloved neighborhoods, the “Old North End,” noted for its historic homes and gracious tree-lined streets. Your home-away-from-home is an early 20th century cottage that’s been beautifully remodeled, but with many of its most charming details preserved, including Craftsman-style windows and built-ins. It has a lightly masculine touch, while still bright and welcoming.

A pathway leads from the sidewalk to the front door, pleasantly shaded by the front porch that spans the entire front of the house. Outdoor seating for two invites you to take a load off, then take a deep breath of mountain air.

Step inside and find yourself in a casually elegant living area with a vintage brick hearth at its center. Two leather sofas divided by a tasteful coffee table provide an attractive space for entertaining or watching TV.

A wide, open archway offers an unobstructed view into the dining area, where you’ll find a modern-rustic, high-top dining table with seating for 6 and an endearing, built-in corner dish cabinet highlighting the old-fashioned character of the home. A breakfast bar with two stools overlooks the kitchen.

You’ll enjoy preparing meals in the well-appointed kitchen with its honey-hued cabinetry, quartz countertops, ceiling fan, and gray subway tile backsplash. A suite of full-size stainless-steel appliances is ready to serve you and keep life simple, with a dishwasher, microwave, cooking range with oven, and refrigerator/freezer. Little things matter, too, and they haven’t been forgotten, including a coffee maker, toaster, even an Instant Pot!

Among the three bedrooms in this home, you’ll find two that are closely similar, decorated in soothing dove gray with simple modern furnishings, including queen beds, ceiling fans and TVs. Both bedrooms feature a quaint built-in armoire with a center mirror and additional cabinetry above.

The middle queen bedroom has a privacy door connecting to the third bedroom. This smaller bedroom doubles as a home office with a computer desk and chair, plus a built-in cabinet with a countertop. A twin bed provides sleeping accommodations for one.

The hallway bathroom on this level is bright and sparkling, finished in white subway tile, with a pedestal sink, combination tub/shower, and an oversized mirrored medicine cabinet.

Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit.

Venture down to the lower level and you’ll find an additional bathroom/laundry room providing a glass-enclosed shower stall, pedestal sink, and a full-size washer and dryer, plus an iron and ironing board. Your every need has been considered.

Also on this level, you’ll appreciate two rooms of additional living space. A TV viewing area has been outfitted with two sofas and plush carpet. An adjoining bonus room can serve as a play room, or even a yoga space. A built-in nook with a work surface could potentially serve as a laptop desk or a place to do homework.

Coming soon for the lower level is a foosball table for all to enjoy! Pictures pending.

A side yard features a large brick-surface patio with a grill, plus a dedicated pebble circle around a propane fire pit with seating for 4. The fire pit area is partially shaded by an outbuilding that provides an artsy, colorful backdrop with its mural of a two-season tree.

This home is managed by a local mid-term rental specialist, and there’s a sense of quality and care that’s worthy of your 5-star review.

A dear friend and classmate and I stayed here during a Class Reunion and Homecoming Weekend at Colorado College. This was a great location for all our events, on and off campus. Very comfortable and suited our needs for the weekend. Just a bit of traffic noise, but not objectionable. A fun older home with character (like a bedroom door that opens into the hallway instead of into the room)! The kitchen is wonderful with newer appliances. It was especially nice to have filtered water and ice from the refrigerator/freezer.Thank you for a great stay! Will defenitley stay here again.
