Altes Forsthaus Garzau - Holidays in the Märkische Schweiz Nature Park, Berlin's outskirts
In this vacation home you will experience the unique landscape of the Märkische Switzerland Nature Park up close. You can enjoy pure idyll away from the hustle and bustle of Berlin air without much effort.
Your holiday accommodation is located in the outer area of the Garzau village, approx. 35 km east of Berlin. The old forest house is romantically nestled between old trees, meadows and field drains in the immediate vicinity of the old field stone pyramid and the nature reserve Rotes Luch. This ensemble belongs to the castle and its designed park. Garzau is an old village, first mentioned in 1247. The probably most beautiful in the area, unique and recently restored field stone church in Germany dates from this time.
Your 50 m² apartment is located on the upper floor of the forest house. The furniture is very lovingly arranged with some old furniture. You have an open kitchen / living area (approx. 30 m²) with high-quality kitchen equipment including a dishwasher and a comfortable seating area that is suitable for reading and lounging. A mezzanine invites you to sleep as a couple "in the tree". However, the steep ladder is not suitable for smaller children or older people. There is a separate bedroom with a double bed (approx. 10 m²). The bathroom with underfloor heating is equipped with a high quality shower, corner bath, toilet and vanity and a washing machine. Our water supply comes from our own well. As a precaution, we provide still water that can be used as drinking water.
You can enjoy nature with every view from the window or experience it up close on the beautiful, sunny terrace in front of the house. The large garden offers many opportunities for sports, for small children there is a sandpit and lots of toys. A cat lives on our farm, who likes to be petted and fed.
Our beautiful surroundings invite you to go hiking, cycling and jogging. There is a DAV fishing lake in the immediate vicinity. You can swim in different waters in the surrounding area with beautiful natural sunbathing areas or in the lido.
There are many sights and attractions: Kurstadt Buckow with theater, cinema and Brechthaus, the Oderbruch with a wonderful bike path on the Oderdeich, Neuhardenberg Castle, Strausberg with its climbing forest and the Fåhre over the Straussee and of course a trip to the nearby federal capital Berlin not missing. For weekends and public holidays, free use of all public transport in Berlin can be provided for two adults and three children. The landlords will be happy to advise you on these activities.
If more than four guests want to use the apartment, there is another bedroom available with a double bed and a single bed for an additional charge of € 15.00 / night.
Linen package (towels + bed linen) for short-term occupancy (less than four nights) € 7.50 / per person. You are also welcome to bring your laundry packages yourself.

Fantastic owners and beautiful place middle of the woodland. The apartment itself is really amazing, well equipped with everything you need for short or a long stay and if you need anything else you can always go to nearby village and get in there from Netto or a pharmacy. I can't say much about the surroundings as we spent only couple of days as we went there for the wedding BUT I can say a lot about the owners. They are fantastic, generous, friendly and very helpful people. As we didn’t have a car ( we travelled there with privet transport there and back) they offered us a push bikes and even a car if we wanted get something from nearby village. But the biggest THANK YOU, and I will take opportunity and say this again, is for their help to get us in two cars ( family of 7) to the church in centrum of Berlin for a weeding, which was 45 km away-90 min drive, after numerous attempts with many diffrent local taxi companies, which they didn’t want take us there for God knows only reason.One of the company even suggest us to take a train to Berlin'...but again that was only one upset and We were so lucky that we had such great owners of the property who help us and saved the day. Thank you again and I wish all the best and many customers as you really deserve

Our 2 year old loved running free in the garden. Communication for arrival time was great and very flexible.
