About this house rental
This 5 bedroom, 3 bath "beach cottage", built in 1925, with additional renovations and additions carried out over the years is situated on a hill on 3 acres of land with spectacular distant views overlooking Wellfleet Harbor, out toward Great Island with Cape Cod Bay in the beyond. The house offers privacy, a pleasant setting among the pine trees and a short walk (.1 mile) to Powers Landing, a sandy bayside beach. Wellfleet Center and the harbor are about 3/4 of a mile from the house.
First Floor: There is a large living room with an alcove for TV watching, a large kitchen with an eat-in dining area as well as a bath with shower off the hallway. There are two screened porches, one on each side of the house as well as two outdoor patios, one located at the front and the other at the rear of the house. There is one large window A/C to cool this space.
Second Floor: There 5 bedrooms, 1 with a king (window A/C unit) and one with a queen bed (window A/C unit) in the other, 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds (window A/C unit), another with a trundle bed (2 twin sized beds), and a small bedroom room with pyramid bunkbed (Twin/Double). There are 2 baths on this floor, one with tub only and the other with a shower. The washer/dryer are located on the second floor off the hallway.
The ocean beaches are about a 8-10 minute drive. Pets allowed (dogs only) for an added $300 per dog per week fee. An administrative fee and applicable taxes may apply. Linens not provided. Guests may rent linens or bring their own.

Renting this cottage feels like you have borrowed a family member's long time home, with many pluses and a few drawbacks. The listing is not 100% accurate - no first floor bedroom, no toaster oven, no beach umbrella, etc. Some of the bedrooms are tiny, the storm windows were stuck down in many rooms - the house did not feel like anyone had opened it for summer rental. The grill and many of the pots in the kitchen were filthy, and we arrived to a full dishwasher of dirty dishes, and a first floor toilet that did not fill. That said, once we got everything worked out, the house is airy, charming, and perfectly located, and we had a wonderful family week there. Just come prepared for some quirks, and you will have a great time. We would definitely rent it again.

Nice quaint house in a great area in Wellfleet. Very well situated, close to town center and directly on the bayside. Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans. Spacious. Was not as clean as we expected but still ok. The only negative was the quality of the mattresses. They are severely old and require an upgrade.we would rent again if mattresses were replaced with comfortable options.
