About this country house rental
Casa do Grego has glorious sea views and stands alone in an unspoilt area of outstanding natural beauty. It is set back from a cliff-top with uninterrupted views down to the Sao Rafael beaches overlooking fig and olive trees and many mature mimosas and umbrella pines. The Grego is a 5 bedroom converted 160 year old farmhouse but has been sympathetically modernised to retain many of its original features including its bread oven, cisterna and water catchment area. It is a family home with a well-equipped modern kitchen, TV, WiFi, DVD player, outside terraces, barbecue and a gated heated 9x4m swimming pool with gentle graduated steps. Casa do Grego is within easy walking distance of the beaches of Sao Rafael with impressive beach cafes, the new prize-winning marina of Albufeira and many excellent restaurants. Albufeira is located in the central Algarve and is close to several golf courses, a riding school, slide and splashes and Zoomarine - well worth a visit with or without children. The farmhouse is built along traditional lines with walls nearly 1 metre thick in places, mainly stone tiles on the floors and air vents through the roof in various places. The combination of these features and the regular on-shore sea breeze mean that it is rarely too hot. There is, however, a fan in each bedroom just in case the wind drops at night - a rare occurrence.

We had an amazing stay with everything you could possibly want. Location fabulous with the Marina and 2 lovely beaches within easy walking distance. We didn’t hire a car as we used local ubers being readily available and cheap. We all loved the villa and the outdoor space. There were no neighbours to disturb which was a bonus with 4 lively boys. Thank you for a lovely stay and would definitely recommend Casa Greg

We really loved this property!! Excellent communication and information shared before arrival and we were met by the property manager after arrival which was really helpful. The farmhouse is traditional and really unique. It sits in a quiet location with no immediate neighbours and is an easy walk to Sao Rafael. Albufeira marina was only a 15 min walk which had really reasonably priced restaurants and was much quieter than the old town. The location was perfect, especially if you enjoy walking. The house was really well equipped for the number of people it accommodates, especially the kitchen which had everything you could need plus 2 large fridge / freezers, perfect for a large group.The outdoor space was fabulous and spacious with both seating and dining areas and a great sized swimming pool. The pool had sunshine all day! So much to see and do locally and a great location for exploring the Algarve. Our party of 9 (adults and teenagers) would all definitely recommend this property and hope to return.

Beautiful home away from home with friends and family. 10 of us in total and none of us can find fault in Casa Do Grego. The house is well laid out, with a lovely outdoor area and pool, enough space for all of us and pretty much everything we needed to be self-sufficient for the week. Close enough to both the marina and some lovely beaches to walk, but cheap enough in an Uber if you’re not up to the hike up the hills. Great comms with both the owner and the agent too. All in all, we had a fantastic week and will no doubt be back in the future.

The property is big and therefore enough space for a big family. It is an old farmhouse outside of Albufeira, so you shouldn't expect to have anything surrounding it but the nature. You also need to make sure that you have a car to go and visit the beaches. We enjoyed it very much and had a good time with the whole family
