Pills of history:

The apartment is in a historic Art Nouveau building from the early '900. Signed by Architects Mentasti and Lissoni, who, in the same period, were called to build some pavilions for the 1906 international exhibition in the city of Milan. It was the headquarters of the Suburban Railway Cooperative Society, in fact the first railway station of Milan was built next to it.

Access to the apartment is allowed from 3.00 pm, upon registration using the form you will receive from Vikey via email.

Please note that when you enter the building for the first time, it won't be possible to use the lift (the house is at the 2nd floor), as it can only be used with a key, which you will find in the apartment.

It is spacious. The location is fantastic for shopping, amenities, people watching, city transportation. Communication was prompt and courteous though no extras whatsoever. I made a couple of suggestions for improvement that were noted, but not acted upon to make my stay a bit more comfortable (one example, 2 nespresso pods for a 3 day stay. It’s insignificant in the long run.) You are on your own here. If you don’t know anything about Milan already, I am not sure that the host would be helpful. Nevertheless it’s a great space and location for those who need no handholding!

In my opinion at least one bottle of water is required in the property for arriving guests . You never know from what distance the guests have traveled , or what immediate needs they may have , or condition they are in when they arrive. Water is needed on arrival, it is only decent to provide it.

The apartment and location was great. There was a grocery store and plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as access to the metro system via trolley or walking less than a half mile. The only thing that would’ve helped was extra sheets and bed linens and paper products.

My college-aged daughter and I spent our first three nights in Italy as a starting point to her semester abroad. We were both very excited about this apartment, and while there are some nice features, a few things took away from our experience. Pros: pictures of the apartment itself are mostly accurate and there is a lot of space and windows (note info about the stairs). Both the regular bed and sofa bed were comfortable. Communication with the host company was typically quite quick. Cons: The apartment is above a dance club whose hours are 11PM to 5AM Tues-Sun. Google Maps shows something called "hub" but this is an old photo as there is now the Play Club. We stayed Friday to Sunday and every night the noise from the music and/or the people on the street outside it was non-stop. In fact, often times the street noise was louder after closing, including a very loud fight Saturday night. I knew we were staying in a city but was not expecting this. Needless to say, we did not sleep well at all. Another disappointment was that this was the most sparsely supplied rental I have ever stayed in. A notice mentioned soaps would not be supplied, but in reality, all that was supplied was a single roll of toilet paper. So if you want/need more than that (paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, laundry) prepare to go shopping unless you happen to pack it with you. Additionally, if you want to use the sofa bed, be sure to request that or you will not have linens your first night.
