Lovely location. On site farm shop highly recommended.

Only downside was we were woken by dog barking from 5 am. The peacock screaming wasn't an issue 😁

We had a truly wonderful stay at West Stable. The property itself is absolutely beautiful—full of charm and character, with clear attention to detail throughout. One of the highlights was the welcome booklet that shared the fascinating history of the property and the journey of its thoughtful restoration; it really added a personal and meaningful touch to our visit. The amenities were of a very high standard, and everything we needed was readily available. From the well-equipped kitchen to the cosy bedrooms, every aspect of the home felt comfortable and well-considered. We especially loved the log burner—it made for some really cosy evenings and added to the warm, inviting atmosphere of the space. Overall, West Stable exceeded our expectations and offered a perfect blend of modern comfort and rustic charm. We wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others looking for a peaceful and beautifully finished countryside retreat.

If we were to be really picky, there are just a few small things that could make the stay even better. The pillows were quite large, so slightly smaller pillows might have been a better addition. We also noticed that there were no curtains or blinds in the living/dining area, which would have added a bit more privacy and warmth. Lastly, the emergency light in the second bedroom gives off a green glow at night, which might be a bit distracting for light sleepers. That said, these are very minor points and in no way took away from our overall experience. West Stable is a fantastic place to stay—comfortable, charming, and beautifully presented. We’d happily return, whether for work or a relaxing getaway.
