Bay Views: Peaceful Acadia National Park Getaway!

If you like osprey diving into the water and bald eagles sailing past the living room bay windows, you're in a good spot coming here. if you like a homeyness inside and outside, you're still in a good spot coming here. Someone, at some point, had been really into the flower (and fruit) selections. There were ripe blueberries right next to the guest-area deck, and what looked to be an apple tree on site (and some more hidden among the overgrowth just across the road.) A quick walk to the west/left takes you to an ocean inlet where the tide comes in and out surprisingly fast. And you're a relatively short drive to basic grocers, small diners, and myriad coasts and small hikes. For all that, it didn't feel overpriced, either.

A few small things. Isolated though this place may be, there's some heavy traffic (dump trucks, etc) out front at eye level. The gas stove top isn't particularly nuanced and was scorching our food at the lowest setting. We set off the fire detecter a couple of times. So that works, at least. There was also a certainly sense of tragedy to the place, too. It's extremely clear that this had been someone's home, due to the state of the property grounds. Carefully picked flowers, perhaps running a little rampant. A closed off garden space unused, alongside a small unused greenhouse. Clothes-line posts, unused. Even a bit of a trail heading to the salt pond out back (yes, it has water on two sides!), but a little overgrown. Bushwacking required. Wood trim lines the walkway, and it's clear that a wasp nest has developed beneath some of it. Perfectly natural, but perhaps a sign of a attention that only a permanent resident could give. I just felt a little like I was intruding. If it's to remain a rental property, it might benefit from a little depersonalization, perhaps. Maybe even a second smaller cabin where the garden and shed were, with a small-tree divider for privacy between the two? I dunno.
