Mangle 13 Modern Apartments-Rooftop pool, close to Ferry

Pros: The fourth floor apartment had great views from both the living room and the bedroom, with floor to ceiling glass balcony doors and huge bedroom windows. The shower stall was spacious, and the apartment had good facilities, and had been cleaned thoroughly. There’s a super nice coffee shop a couple doors down (Cafe Donceles), and the neighborhood folks were friendly as I walked through on various evenings. The coatis that live on the same street were very cute, as well! The rooftop pool was a nice touch, as well. I liked that I was able to easily walk to the Puerto Juarez ferry port to cross over to Isla Mujeres.

Cons: Cancún is a windy city, and the set-up of the building is mostly concrete, such that the exterior doors rattled with every draft, sounding like someone was trying to enter the apartment repeatedly. The photos in the listing were clearly taken in another unit (likely the first floor), and the art on the walls of the 4th floor apartment (whose subjects were fairly unsettling) was very different from what the photos advertised. Both air conditioner units functioned, but also dripped, meaning I was woken up by splashing water on my pillow a number of times. I was appreciative of the washing machine and laundry detergent, but the machine left my clothing smelling of cigarette smoke/dirty water. There is no dryer in the unit. The location is off the beaten path, so be prepared to do a good amount of walking and riding local buses (generally 10-12 pesos cash). It’ll take at least 30 minutes to get to the Hotel Zone/beaches, even if you hail an Uber. You’ll want to stock up on bottled water!!

Our apartment was wonderful with an amazing rooftop view and it all looked just like the pictures! The location was really great, we could take an uber for a couple dollars to the beach, the store, local restaurants, basically anywhere we needed to go. Plus it was a lovely walk to the local markets from the apartment, and there's a super cute cafe right down the street with tasty treats and drinks. We're so happy we went with this property!

Not all of the outlets worked in the apartment, but enough of them worked that it wasn't an issue for us. We were always able to charge our electronics, including phones, AirPods, computers, watches, etc.
