OSA Guest House

Superb value. Well exceeded my expectations and has some well thought out touches and I extended to a week. Would defo go back here if staying in Seminyak. 1. Very quiet street due to no-through traffic and the Guesthouse is next to a short concrete wall. 2. Comfy bed. As I was alone I slept on the opposite side which was definitely firmer and less used. :) 3. Toto bidet soft closing toilet seat. Rare to see a real Toto outside Japan and a luxury: A nice touch and big surprise in this budget and keeps you sooo clean compared to paper. :D 4. One-way shaded privacy glass on patio doors. I only realised this the day I left (doh!), but you can leave the curtains open and still have daylight and privacy. Another nice touch. 5. Good aircon. No bugs came in and I was there a week. 6. Warm clean shower. Hot water lasts around 5 mins but heats back up during the day so is hot again by afternoon and again by evening. 7. Really clean. Only some discolouration of chrome tap+shower fittings which is common (high humidity and water impurities). And slight mould around edges of shower which would come up beautiful and white again easily with a squirt of raw bleach on the silicon. Still much better than many more expensive places I've stayed in Bali. 8. Nice little patio area to sit outside (lovely and sheltered in the rain). 9. Access via a gate straight to the street so you've decent privacy. 10. Lovely owners. :) Just a 2 min walk from Seminyak Square, yet so quiet. 7-8 min walk to Flea market. 5-10 min walk to many bars and clubs. 10 mins to nearest beach (which is quiet and usually empty). I extended to a week and would've happily stayed longer but wanted to see other parts of Bali. It's about a 20 min walk to where Seminyak's long strip of beach chairs, cafes and bars through Legian to Seminyak (in hindsight that's a more fun part of Seminyak to be in, but in all other respects OSA Guesthouse is oustanding value and has a great location).

If the Fridge cut off or back on during the night in the room I was staying, it made a loud clanging (metal on metal) noise which will definitely wake you up. Sounds like something may need screwing down inside near the compressor. I note one guest commented they turned it off during the night instead. Everything else was so good I just put up with it, and some nights it didn't go off so was fine. A light or light switch by the bed would be a nice touch. Otherwise have to get up to turn it on/off by the main door. Walls are hollow (not solid) between rooms and although they're good at keeping out sounds from human guests inside, scraping furniture echoes loudly. Maybe some phelt bottoms to chairs and slight adjustment to some wardrobe hinges so they don't scrape might help. Most other Bali properties, including hotels, are the same in fairness. One night all guests were awoken to a 30-60 second beeping alarm which would go off every few hours. Then during the morning my power cut off - just to my room. Seems like the meters for each room may have to be manually topped up. I'm an eco-conscious low power user (always turn off the aircon when I go out) so it'd be good if the owners could check every few days to ensure the meter's aren't too low so the alarm doesn't wake everyone. If it does for you, be sure to notify the owners as it won't go off by itself. ;) WiFi was a bit ropey at times and I couldn't connect. I think too many users connected at times. Other times it was good. Always wise to get a data SIM too if you want reliable internet in Bali. :)

Amazing location. Very nice and accommodating host. Very quiet area! Good air conditioning.

No frills, nothing particularly exciting. Just a very economically good place to stay in a great location run by good people 👍

An exceptional value. Very comfortable.

It would be helpful to have better signage at the head of the gang and at the site as well.
