Along a hiking journey on Sardegna Island we booked this small double room (15 sqm) for one night in beginning of June for 65 € and were quite satisfied with comfort and cleanliness. Official Check-In slot is marked from 14:00 to 20:00. Through self-check-in a later arrival doesn’t bring problems as you are fully flexible. ATTENTION: Check-Out already at 10:00! LOCATION: The mini room is located in a newly built residential block in front of quite busy „Via Repubblica“ main road with window view to northern side overlooking street and trees of hospital parc. By foot to old town centre its about 20 minutes (1,5 km). On ground floor are shops („Caddys“ and „Prenatal“). Biggest nearby advantage is the Coop Supermarket (open 8-20 and 8:30 to 13:30 on Sunday) just in the parallel Via Aosta road (1 minute walk). Directly on front of the building is a stop of City Bus Lines No. 1, 2, 9. The ARST train station with daily connections to Macomer is just 500 metres east of the guest room. CHECK-IN: On day of arrival we received an automatically e-mail at 13:16 in Italian language that the room is ready for check-in. There was never any personal name of the owner written down, so it felt like an anonymous business as we never saw the owner. The description for check-in was a bit misleading. On front door was a ring button with the name of the Apartment on it, but nobody is there at the place. We only saw the cleaning lady at day of departure at 10:00. A 6-digit code is needed open the front door, but the instruction to find the right room along the second floor (lift or 47 stairs) of house No. 39 was not fully clear. Another four digit code was necessary to open a key box to grab a key to get to the corridor, where another door to another guest room was located. The advertised room is like a small piece splited out of a full flat. All other rooms along the floor seem to be long-term rented to private families. By September 2026 they rent out a bit bigger room with 18 sqm for 70 €. Our booked room had a 2,90 m height, well working air condition, 3x towel per guest, an 160cm wide double bed with comfortable white bedcovers and pillows, 0,5l Mineral water in fridge for free and a 42‘‘-Flat-TV. Very useful was the wide desk (2,60x0,55m) to order all personal stuff. The hot water kettle with a 4x tea and 4 ceramic cups was a nice add-on. There was even a Lavazza coffee machine with 2 capsules for guests. With 65 € a great price for all that amenities. All furniture was modern and new – so it felt like a big city stay and not typical traditional Sardinian style. Bath room (no window) had 2,2x1,3 m with a 65x85cm shower cabin and bidet. Shower gel (2x 20 ml) and a small hand soap was provided. The sink was quite small, but the mirror stylish with backlight. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The ARST bus company offers a wide choice of connections from Bus Station. (5 minutes walk away) There is a free WC and and ticket machine. Most important bus lines for hikers are going to mountain village Oliena where the tour to Dolomite-alike peaks of Monte Corrasi (1463 m) and Punta Sos Nidos (1348 m) are starting and to Orgosolo where routes to Monte Novo San Giovanni (1316m) are starting. Direct bus line to the beaches of Cala Gonone via Dorgali is also available. To Cagliari it is recommended to take the route through the mountains of Gennargentu via Laconi and Isili to see so much more of the landscape.
