Private Hot Tub & Deck: Woodsy Broken Bow Retreat

We loved the creek in the backyard, fireplace outside, and the deer wandering around the property.

There seemed to be dog hair on the rug in the living room, under the coffee table.

Hard to find, no street number on anything, no specific name given in the info sent, trees around drive block the view of road, can’t see cars coming

The house was beautiful! We were there for nothing more than relaxation. It was comfortable! I would’ve liked to have had a recliner, but I made do! Hot tub was great!

The road in, and out was absolutely horrible. We came in in a raging thunderstorm, bottomed out my car numerous times! Thank God nothing was damaged that I can see. I will be taking it to the shop so that it can be put on a lift, and inspected! My wife said the sheets weren’t very good!

The cabin is beautiful, inside and out, very comfortable and well-appointed, set well back from the road, with a covered, wrap-around deck that includes an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub at the rear, and lots of trees, with a lush, natural ground cover. Enjoy the silence! A beautiful creek runs through the property about 30 ft. behind the cabin and it has a welcome isolation from neighboring cabins. Birds sing every morning and bats appear at dusk. Perhaps that's why there were no mosquitoes. :-) Three entrance roads to Beavers Bend State Park are within a 10-minute drive, with access to multiple boat ramps, day use areas, a Nature Center and a Visitor Center, as well as an in-park restaurant, The Lookout Kitchen, that has a great view and great catfish with crazy low prices. (Shhhh...) And don't miss dining at Grateful Head Pizza. LOL

Literally the ONLY issue we had with this property was the condition of the dirt road between 259 and the cabin, but to be fair, the cabin is less than half a mile from the highway and the Broken Bow area has had a LOT of rain in recent weeks (May 2025), as evidenced by the high lake level (submerged picnic tables, etc.) LOL For all we know, the gullies, ruts and potholes in the dirt road will be repaired soon, but I would ask before booking. Any AWD or FWD vehicle would just find it entertaning, as we did, only having to go very slowly, but a regular sedan or SUV might bottom out. But for this one and only difficulty, I would have given this property a rating of 10.
