Casa Botique review

Kitchen facilities, including the washer and dryer machines, were good. The size of the room was perfect. The bed was surprisingly good and firm. Distance to train station was quite agreeable, being a ten minute walk or less.

Shower heads needed cleaning or replacing. There was no TV aerial for TV reception. I had to buy a non-stick frying pan. I didn't like the vertical blinds. It was not easy to gain access initially due to having difficulty in opening the box to get the keys out by reason of lack of light at night time. Parking was not free for me. There wasn't enough cutlery until a few nights before leaving the accommodation. The floor boards were quite noisy everywhere.

Mixed review.

Location is really convenient to the dock yard and Gun Warf shopping. Be aware of the shared bathrooms and kitchen. Not much if an issue. The bottom shower is better.

Sadly, had to call the owner in the early hours to discuss the tripped electric board; no lighting or plugs working. My hubby (a certified electrician) had to access the panel to reconnect after we gained permission from thd owner. It put a downer on an otherwise wonderful few days. Get what you pay for.

Unpleasant experience

The host replied most of my emails when I wanted the heating increased

The first night I got there, the bed sheets were dirty and also had someone's pubic hair on them. The showers were not working very well. (I wasn't happy the bathroom was shared, but that's my fault for not realising. Next time I'll double check the type of bathroom facility.) Twice, other guests left the toilets in a very disgusting state. The heating kept being turned off, even though it was 7 or 8 degrees outside. Every night, the other guests stomped around, which shook the walls of the house. One night, the person above was stomping around and shouting continuously until 4.30 in the morning.

Bed was comfortable, perfect location for why I was in Portsmouth. Room was adequate size and clean

Very comfortable and convenient!

Excellent location close to dockyard with bus station right outside. Lots of thoughtful touches. Always neat and clean.

I stayed on 3rd floor with baths on floors 1 and 2 with small spiral stairs to my room. At 67, doing those stairs with luggage and in the middle of the night was a bit challenging. Also, could use a towel or paper towels in the kitchen.

Disappointed.

No choice on the room. Random. Room was too small, wouldn't have booked if I knew it was that room. No mirror. Shared facilities. No parking available either night.

A lovely stay and I will return although might have a bath next time!

This is a lovely spacious room - there is enough wiggle room to do your yoga exercises in the morning and a lovely big window to gaze at Portsmouth life. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the WiFi worked well. The bed was very comfy and there was wardrobe space with hangers which was a rare treat. There is also a desk which allows you to work from the room easily.

I had not realised that the bathroom was shared so that was a bit of a surprise, and the shower is quite hard to manipulate to find the sweet spot between too hot and too cold.

Ok if you wanna stay just 1 night and you don’t mind in sharing the bathroom.

It’s near the train station.

Super inconvenient to have to share the bathroom with 6 rooms. This should have been made explicit in the Booking ad, but it wasn’t. The trash at the entrance smelled like fish and it stayed there for days without anyone collecting it.

The property was well situated 4 all my travels and was comfortable 2 stay in!

Giant rubbish bins and moulded bread

Location, plenty of clean pillows, desk fan was provided which was great for the hot weather.

Entrance was via gate leading to giant rubbish bins to left, moulded bread spewed across the path. No Tea or Coffee powder, nor hands wash in kitchen. Couldn't use kettel. You could hear people walking on floor above. Couldn't find hair dryer.

Lovely stay for a quick break

Lovely clean room in the house, in a great location. Room looked just as advertised - see photo. The free parking was a bonus!

Günstige Unterkunft mit mehreren Abstrichen

+ perfect located for visiting the historical dockyard and for shopping

- Im Eingangsbereich/Hof läuft man direkt an der Müllsammelstelle vorbei. Leider führt hier kein Weg daran vorbei - Die Küche ist mit den dürftigsten Sachen ausgestattet - Im Reiskocher haben wir Schimmel entdeckt - Sämtliche Ablagen waren nicht gerade hygienisch - Klobürsten auf beiden Toiletten unbrauchbar (eine defekt, die andere lag so daneben) - Haustüre von außen nicht leise schließbar - jegliche Bewegungen im Haus waren von jedem wahrnehmbar - Heizung war zentral auf dem Flur geregelt. Ohne Nachfrage beim Host hätte man die Steuerung nicht gefunden. Es war kalt und ich musste anderen Gästen auch erklären wie die Heizung funktioniert. - überall Teppichboden. Das war nicht in der Beschreibung und ist als Allergiker ein Problem! - Keine Handtücher zum Abtrocknen der Hände. Es gäbe auch keine Möglichkeit diese aufzuhängen. - TV im Zimmer war nur zur Deko. - Nicht auf Google Maps registriert. Schade, hier hätte ich gerne mehr Bilder gezeigt
