Train noise and in apartment block

Wonderful hostess, made me feel at home. She and her daughter are lovely, and they kindly lent me a large, warm coat for the three days I stayed, among other kind gestures! Spacious room, and the bed was super comfortable! Strong, hot shower, too. I didn't use the kitchen and laundry room, as I was only for a short period.

I didn't hear the train, but I recommend using earphones or earplugs to sleep if you're a light sleeper like me, as the walls are thin- as usual in many places in AUS and you can hear the neighbors arriving in the garage and hallway at night, as well as the kitchen. Even though, I was able to catch a good night sleep .

A spotlessly clean room, though in a family home, it felt private and it was very quiet. Vanessa, whose house it is, is so kind and thoughtful and she made me feel most welcome.

It’s close to the train track and the trains are loud with the last one going past around 11pm and the first around 6pm (those times are estimates as I didn’t check my watch). It’s a short walk from the tram station and, as I was coming back late each evening, the streets were dark and deserted. I knew that I was safe but even so, I did the key thing just to be sure. A mirror and an extra pillow so that you can sit up in bed and read would be nice 😊.

Good area, great public transport, the host is very kind. Room was clean and comfortable.

Tension between host and her kids, no lounge area, wifi very unstable. Kitchen was very busy and so it was hard to do own cooking.
