Bright city escape in Canary wharf

Canary Wharf ist eine wunderbare Gegend mit einer großartigen Mischung aus Alt und Neu. Der Supermarkt liegt praktisch neben dem Appartmenthaus. Die Verkehrsanbindung mit Bus vorm Haus, Tube und Uber Boat in Laufweite machte es uns leicht. Auch für sportliche Betätigung am Abend ist gesorgt (ourdoor-Gym im Park), Restaurants und Bars gibt es auch ausreichend. Die Anreise vom London City Airport gestaltete sich unkompliziert und dauert nicht lange. Das Apparment war ok. Es gab eine Waschmaschine.

Eine Woche vor Anreise hatte ich angefragt, wie die Schlüsselübergabe erfolgte. Mir wurde geantwortet, dass ich am Tag vor der Anreise alle Details erhalte. An dem Tag vor Anreise (Freitag) meldete sich bis nachmittags niemand. Erst auf Nachfrage wurde mir - nach langen Kommunikationspausen - mitgeteilt, dass ich erst noch die Kautioin bezahlen muss. Es war nervenzerrend, bevor alles erledigt war. Warum die Kaution nicht eher angefordert wurde und der Kunde so hingehalten wurde, weiß ich nicht. Vor Ort war der Schlüssel in einer Schlüsselbox. Das stellte kein Problem dar. Ins Haus kommt man auch mit einem Code. Bei Ankunft gegen 17 Uhr war die Putzfee noch anwesend. Sehr nett, aber doch etwas verwirrend. Auf die Frage, wo das dritte Bett und das dazugehörige Bettzeug sei, wurde nur auf das Sofa verwiesen. Wir haben dann das 3. Bett selbst hergerichtet. Das Bettzeug schien frisch, sicher sind wir da nicht. Andere Kleinigkeiten fielen nicht so ins Gewicht.

There was loads of noice around. To get the key was tricky even though it says keys may fall it still fell and if I didn’t have glasses I wouldn’t have been able to get them. And couldn’t use the freezer as it was stuck frozen.

Great access to the underground via Jubilee Line or Elizabeth Line. We were attending a festival at the O2 so only an 8 minute walk and one stop on the tube. We walked to Greenwich via the foot tunnel which was a very easy 1.5 miles.

People should be aware that there is a fire station directly out the lounge window, although it was not an issue when they had call-outs. The bedroom was a very good size but a set of curtains would help as the yard area is lit.

Great location ! Had 2 fans in the apartment which was great considering it was so hot whilst we were there we got a government alert for heat!

A lot. Firstly, key lock box is extremely difficult to open. The mechanism is very stiff. I had to contact the owner for check in information a few hours before check in as I had heard nothing from him. I was then informed a deposit has to be paid which I had no issue with, however I was told it would it would take up to 10 days to be refunded and on the 10th day still nothing back, so I contacted him to which he told me be patient. I then received a notification from my bank saying it will take a further 5 days to go back into my account. The apartment was not clean! When we eventually got in, the mirrors in the hallway were dusty as was the kitchen table and lots of other surfaces. The glasses in the cabinet were dirty. There was excessive amounts of limescale on the shower head and all grime in the grout. Broken pieces of the blinds were just brushed into a pile in the corner of both the sitting room and kitchen. My biggest issue was the bedding situation for the sofa bed. There was no instructions as to how to set up the bed and all the bedding for the sofa bed had no covers. I eventually found a cupboard were I was met with all damp bedding aiding out and the smell was awful, so when I slept on the sofa I just had to pull the cushions away from. The side and use bedding with no covers. The apartments living room overlooks the back of an active fire station. To be fair, I think the alarm only when off twice during the day. There was also no instructions about bins etc. our bin filled up pretty quickly and there was no way of disposing it. The freezer is also complete frozen over besides 1 drawer. Overall I was not particularly comfortable in the apartment and left after 1 night.
