We had a wonderful stay! The house was spotless, cozy, and smelled amazing with a lovely woody scent throughout. The handmade guidebook was such a thoughtful touch—it was adorable and genuinely helpful, making it so easy to explore the local area. The host was kind and responsive, and everything made us feel very welcome. The bicycles were also a great bonus for exploring Matsumoto.

What a beautiful house! Everything is just so aesthetic, well chosen and considered. And the whole house has a faint smell of wood! We absolutely loved our stay here. Seiya-san was so incredibly kind and helpful and went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He helped us organise the luggage forward and was at the property to receive our suitcases. (And even carried them up!) Seiya also helped us booked a couple of restaurants and his recommendations were perfect. He even dropped us off at the restaurant! Seiya and Natsuki also offer a baby-sitting service which gave my husband and I a wonderful evening off for a date night. And it wasn’t babysitting as we know from home: our boys were shown to traditional Japanese games like watermelon smashing and fireworks. Such special memories! As someone with back problems the beds are always a big topic for me -and I can reassure my fellow sufferers: the beds were great. Not too hard, not too soft. Goldilocks over here slept like a baby. The kitchen has everything you could need to prepare some meals and there’s a handy water dispenser and second fridge for drinks in the dining area upstairs. We also loved the projector and enjoyed a family film night. The shower has great pressure and the towels are very fluffy. Some people wrote that they found the downstairs bathroom inconvenient. But honestly it wasn’t an issue at all for us. Stairs keep you fit! Same with the mentioned traffic noise - having lived for years in central London this wasn’t actually that busy a road (and ear plugs were provided), we slept like babies. The walk to the castle and the main shopping streets is about 15mins. We enjoyed our stay so much and were gutted that we didn’t plan longer in Matsumoto. Arigato gozaimashita, Seiya-san! You and Natsuki made our stay incredible.
