Canaan Beach Home truly captures the essence of Vietnam. The resort has a genuine Vietnamese atmosphere, with no blaring music, just peace and quiet. Its location is perfect and right on the beach and only a short walk from the main road, where you’ll find plenty of shops and restaurants. If you love Vietnam, this is the kind of place you’ll want to stay. Sadly, much of Vietnam’s coastal tourism is being overtaken by Western influence. Loud, unpleasant music and menus filled with burgers and fries dominate many beachfront restaurants. It’s baffling to me why anyone would come to Vietnam only to eat McDonald’s, when the country offers such incredible local cuisine. In Da Nang, the situation is even worse, with bars blasting deafening music on weekends and along the beach every day. At Canaan Beach Home, you don’t have to deal with that. It’s a peaceful retreat that feels authentically Vietnamese. I hope they continue to promote local culture and resist the tide of Westernization. Walking along the beach here, it’s disappointing not to hear traditional Vietnamese music which is truly beautiful but replaced instead by generic repetitive Western not very interesting or even intelligent music. Even the FM radio stations in Ho Chi Minh City lean heavily toward Western sounds. Vietnam has something unique and extraordinary to offer, and places like Canaan Beach Home remind us of that. I hope more resorts embrace and celebrate Vietnamese culture, so visitors can experience the country as it really is

location was good

beach was dirty, cigarette butts throughout the sand area, effluent pipes from hotel into water. we left our booking early and booked flights back to Thailand.
