The host Maritza was very attentive and pleasant. She was very flexible when we encountered heavy traffic and had to check in a little later than we anticipated. She was able to arrange a guided trip to Corcovado National Park for us, and showed us where to go to meet the boat operators for that. The room contains a kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and bedroom, as well as a balcony in front and back. Despite the noisy road below, this property is far enough away from it that you barely notice. The only noises you should be prepared to hear here are the sounds of wildlife. We could see macaws, toucans, capuchins, hummingbirds, and dozens of other animals from the balcony.

The negatives have more to do with the location, not the room or the host. This property is located up a very steep hill, and it's a good 25-minute walk from town. If you don't have transportation, be prepared to walk a significant distance for food and groceries, but if you drive to Drake instead of taking the boat, that solves this problem. It's also worth noting that this same "problem" is what helps keep the place so peaceful and quiet.

We lost power 2 nights. This was not the property or host’s fault, just a function of being there during the rainy season

A well appointed apartment in a fantastic location. It had a simple kitchen typical for Costa Rica. Very private, had a made up road from main road and was a 10 minute walk to the beach. Agujitas, the nearest town, is 15 minute walk away and has a couple of small shops and some restaurants and where the boat to Corcovado National Park departs from.
