Buena Vista Villa Amami

The setting was perfect for my needs. It was a charming cottage nestled up on a quiet hill surrounded by wonderful foliage. As a solo traveller I appreciated a place that felt cozy like a home. It still was a short journey to shops and restaurants. Minami is a stellar host. As she was my first contact for my first visit inside Japan, she made me feel welcome and appreciated. She saved me multiple times with food options when I hadn’t planned well. I believe she has thought of everything you might need while staying there. I will certainly return to stay again. Arigato Gozaimasu Minami-san 💕

Honestly, I cannot think of a thing. My needs were met and it exceeded all expectations.

I did not have breakfast provided to me. There was drip coffee packets and a kettle to boil water in the room. The property is charming, homey, and perfectly located for exploring Amami Oshima. It is tucked away from the road for excellent privacy, offering a beautiful jungle-like natural setting and a small ocean view. The garden and porch are lovely, and all amenities worked perfectly including the AC, hot water, fridge, and kettle station. It was a wonderful setup for a solo traveler.

Neighboring guests were excessively loud and partied into the early morning, disrupting my sleep before an early diving trip. Additionally, I discovered rodent droppings in the bathroom on my final day.

一戸建てのビラで、こじんまりしたワンルームの中に必要なものはほぼそろっていました。内装がおしゃれ。３方向が窓なので昼間明るくて、夜は夜で十分なライトがあり部屋の中が明るいのも良かったです。傘やサンダルなども置いあり、外にもベンチがあって夕涼みもできてともかく快適でした。

強いていうなら、キッチンも洗面所も私には全て高くちょっと使い勝手が悪かったです。多分もっと背の高い人用の設計なのではないかと思いましたがあまり気にはならなかったです。それから食器はお茶碗や小鉢のようなものがもう少し欲しかたです。わかっていれば携帯用の食器はいつも持ち歩くので何があるのかもう少し細かく書かれていれば親切だったと思います。叶うものなら電子レンジが欲しかったです。よくなかったというよりはもっといいのにというところです。

Nice situation and only 20 minutes from the airport by car. Very scenic and would be ideal in warmer weather. We stayed over the New Year.

It was a little small for two people in the winter. It was hard to cook because there was only one hotplate and the cooking surface was a bit too high. Also the washbasin was also too high up.
