The location is fantastic, a ten minute walk from the station, and the house is a really cool way to experience traditional Japanese architecture and culture. It is spacious by Japanese standards, which was a plus for our family.
However, cleanliness was disappointing. We saw a cockroach, some areas were not properly clean, and the dishes were greasy and had to be washed by hand before use. The low ceilings can also be challenging for taller guests, and the wooden floors creak loudly with every step. Mattresses are terrible - we left with back pain unfortunately.
