Mahankal Valley Homestay

Where do I begin, there's so many things to love about this little homestay! 1. The minute we arrived there, the staff immediately took care of our luggage, followed by an excellent lunch. All authentic, local cuisine. 2. What awaited us after the lunch was this amazing riverside view of the Teesta river, nestled between mountain ranges. On the left we could see the borders of Darjeeling and on the right, we had sikkim. 3. We went during the hot summer days of West Bengal, so we were dreading that it will be hot and humid. But what we were greeted with was this amazingly cool and breezy weather. Because of high elevation and naturally unobstructed positioning of this homestay, it was a delightful experience. 4. Location wise although a bit challenging, the fruit of your labour will be paid in double if you visit this place. 5. Breakfast Included, actually means Breakfast Included. And what do you get? Authentic local cuisines, made with care. 6. Staff behaviour was another highlight. From taking care of all our needs to, actually dancing with us on our night, like a family ; it was a refreshing experience. 7. Amenities weren't plenty, but adequate. The beds were spacious, and the blankets were clean and warm. The bathroom were actually sqeeky clean, and the dining area was equally inviting. Overall, a must visit homestay, infact a hidden gem in my opinion. From staff's hospitality to the actual area, and it's surrounding local villege, ya, it was worth it. Amazing value for money, for the services you get and the view you get to witness. Give it a try, if you ever come to Kalingpong!

Although, not much is there to not like about this place, I must put some light on the difficulty you ""may"" face, while coming to this homestay! The location is a bit remote, and the roads are pretty narrow and steep. Even though it may feel like a disadvantage, once you reach there, the transits gets easier as the staff sets everything up for you, making your headache go away.

We stayed for 5 days and it was an amazing experience. Breakfast was awesome as per cultural view and the location was best for anyone who want to stay in peace. Dinner was also very good. If you want to cook by yourself you can. Staff was so good and very cooperative in every perspective. Very calm environment was there.

Nothing. I like everything there. Environment, food, behaviour and their cooperative behaviour. So loving family they are. Also very budget friendly destination with a very good food and breakfast.

I like the property in every angel starting from its scenic view from property and the best hosting family for your any need ….wonderful our stay was ….So comfortable and best support from hosting family ….Lovely human being and family
