Cozy vacation apartments for a peaceful getaway near Neuharlingersiel!
Our house, Oll School (formerly Pension Janssen —a converted and renovated old school—features two vacation apartments and is located in Altharlingersiel near Neuharlingersiel, close to the dike and almost exactly halfway between the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel and the North Sea spa town of Carolinensiel-Harlesiel. Altharlingersiel is situated directly on the unique Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park, an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site since 2009.
Our guests stay in two bright and comfortable vacation apartments, which, at approximately 40 and 45 square meters, are well-suited for one to two people or for two to four people.
Our guesthouse is located near the dike, and you can reach the North Sea spa town of Carolinensiel-Harlesiel in just a few minutes by car. Even closer, however, is the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel. You can reach Neuharlingersiel by car in just under five minutes. Both spa towns are also easily accessible by bike in 10 to 15 minutes.
The North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel is a 300-year-old fishing village with an active fleet of crab boats. In the beautiful historic fishing harbor, East Frisian fishing is still actively practiced today by many crab boats.
While you enjoy your well-deserved vacation, the crab fishermen set out for you from the old and picturesque Neuharlingersiel fishing harbor onto the North Sea. There, the fishermen harvest the seafood that you’ll later enjoy. You can find them in many lovely, welcoming restaurants in Neuharlingersiel, including some right on the historic fishing boat harbor.
There’s a wide range of tourist attractions for your vacation: the beach with the fantastic “Platschi” water play area, the new, modern “BadeWerk” spa and wellness center with a seawater indoor pool and sauna facilities, as well as the Kurhaus, Kursaal, an information center with the “Leuchttürmchen” children’s playhouse, the Sielhof as a visitor center, green spaces, events, a lovingly maintained historic harbor, and of course the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park with its unique natural spectacle, as well as many other attractions.
Neuharlingersiel is located right in the middle of the East Frisian North Sea coast, on the mainland directly across from the island of Spiekeroog.
In the North Sea spa town of Carolinensiel-Harlesiel, about three kilometers east of Altharlingersiel, there is a wide range of vacation activities for children and parents. First, there’s the old harbor in Carolinensiel. Today, this old harbor is home to a museum harbor featuring historic Frisian flat-bottomed sailboats. Take a stroll or stop by one of the lovely restaurants to watch the lively hustle and bustle around the harbor!
You’ll enjoy the view of the old ships, the harbor promenade with its cafés, tea rooms, and restaurants, as well as the paddle steamer Concordia II, a replica of the old Concordia I from 1854. This paddle steamer operates a shuttle service on the Harle River, taking you from the Museum Harbor past the Haus des Gastes, through the Friedrichsschleuse lock, and on to the marina in Harlesiel on the North Sea.
In addition, there’s the Haus des Gastes, which offers a wide range of entertainment and relaxation options. For example, parents can read in peace while their children are looked after by experienced staff. Of course, the whole family loves going to the beautiful beach here, but you can also go swimming at the Cliner Quelle saltwater recreation pool (with a wading pool, sauna, tanning beds, beauty and wellness area, and the popular “Moonlight Swim” once a week). Or, in the summer, you can visit the heated seawater outdoor pool in Harlesiel. For children, growing teenagers, and really the whole family, there’s the Happy Family Club with programs and plenty of ideas. On vacation in Carolinensiel, there’s always something to do—whether it’s sports and games, entertainment, or relaxation.
A day trip to one of the East Frisian islands is always a special recommendation—from our location, the best option is to head from Harlesiel to Wangerooge. From Carolinensiel-Harlesiel, take a sightseeing flight over the dikes, the North Sea, and the islands: an unforgettable experience awaits you!
