Grand Park Otaru

The hotel is grand and spacious. The rooms were large and comfortable. The location was good - it is attached to a shopping mall. It is located right on the water and we paid for an upgrade for a water view which was delightful. The staff were lovely.

I understand that it calls itself "eco friendly" which is great that they are thinking about the environment. So they dont change the sheets every day (saves power from not washing) which I understand. They empty the rubbish bins and provide new towels. However, I really don't understand how not cleaning surfaces would be saving the environment - it is really only physical labour involved. I would have liked them to have given the room a bit of a better clean. The hotel would have been lovely in it's day - however it is tired and needing renovation. The furniture is scratched and stained. Our floor lamp was torn and leaning to one side. My mattress was hard - my daughter's was OK - so I guess there is some variation. My most important suggestion would be to put some charger points on either side of the bed.

The room is spacious and well appointed. Mattress was very comfortable. The hotel is linked to the supermarket. Very clean.

Big room

Lack of services- called front desk for laundery to let them know there will be a bag to pick up and the details - they confirmed then once back end of the day nothing had happened and they told me next day is sunday so it wont be available. Also we were 2 adults 1 kid - towel were not provided in sufficient qties - minor issues but over all a lack of service

Large room Quiet aircon Sea view is worth it

Lots of stains If you miss the cleaning in the morning because you like to sleep in, they will not come back. Everying about this hotel is just ok, not great but not terrible.
