Lovley stay

when we went to check in we got upgraded , all the staff were very friendly and nothing was a bother to them

When we went to use leisure you had to take your shoes off just as you went into the communal changing room and no spinner to put your costume into ,

Good but could have been better . Have been several times and always enjoyed my stay

Breakfast was good and good choice

Evening meal. Had to change our menu choices 3 times due to out of stocks - no cheesecake, no cheese n biscuits and no crumble . I eventually ordered peach Melba sundae but was disappointed as it was only peach and ice cream . After a disappointing meal we went to the bar - we were the only people in the bar there was a party night on . At 10.30 the barmaid told us she was closing the bar . We were back in our room by 10.40.

We had a lovely time at the New lanark Mill hotel

We had dinner the first night we stayed and it was excellent, the room was spacious and had a lovely view over the water.

The room i thought would have been a bit more up scale that what it actually was but it was still lovely. The card that opened the bedroom door kept failing and we had to ask for another card or cleaners to let us into our room. Breakfast was the disappointment for me, the first morning i had the avocado on toasted sourdough, and the second i had the eggs benedict. Both said on toasted, bread or muffin, to me toasted is not just warmed up - there was no crunch to the bread or the muffin. But this is a minor detail and overall we had a great time here. One thing that i thought we might had got was entry to the rooftop garden when we stayed but we had to buy tickets to see that. But these are minor details and overall we had a great time here.

Staff were all lovely and friendly. Room was very spacious and mostly clean. We had dinner in the restaurant which we couldn't fault.

There was stain on the bedsheet, and the spa area was very unclean and ran down looking. Swimming pool was freezing.

Perfect cosy and relaxing stay

Lovely interior and layout, the hotel was perfect for a cosy and relaxing night away. Amazing food for dinner and breakfast. Helpful staff throughout the hotel.

Bathroom sink a little blocked and took time to drain, we were only there for 1 night so didn’t bother us but worth looking into. Service was a little slow - food and drinks, perhaps because of the layout but always tasting great, hot and beautifully presented. Neither of these things would prevent us from booking again or highly recommending to family and friends.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful and historic place.

Historic and a beautiful location. Beautiful views. Very comfortable. Nice tea and hot chocolate in the room. Friendly and helpful staff. Spa facilities. Fresh air and windows that open in the room. Good temperature in the room.

Phone in the room wasn’t working. It would be good to have bottles of water in the room. I wasn’t sure about drinking the tap water. At breakfast there was no berry compote with the porridge. The coffee could be better. The pool doesn’t open until 8am which is quite late. I thought the Mill shop could stock more/ better range products including images of the Falls of Clyde and wildlife with SWT.

Good hotel, good staff, nice location

The location. The hike down the hotel. The restaurant. The health and fitness area (pool, sauna and Hammam, fitness). The room with a good bathroom and enough space. The good hot chocolate available in the rooms. Bathrobes. The staff at the top.

The radiator was not working in the chamber despite the attempt to adjust.The operating mode was not clear and the adjustment system did not appear to work. An outdoor light at the window was on all night (not very environmentally friendly) and a little annoying despite the closed curtains. There is a lot of moisture in the windows that can be seen in the paints. But it's not a no-go way to go to this great hotel.

Absolutely stunning location, so much history in the building. Rooms were beautiful and roomy, gorgeous view from the window

Room was too warm throughout the night. Unfortunately, couldn't sleep properly as we'd to keep the window open and had the constant noise from the river (couldn't hear this when the window was closed). Noise/music travelled to the room from the function suite 2 floors below but this stopped at midnight

Fab location but not value for money

Location and the size of the rooms.

The bathroom had a basic shower over the bath and not a decent walk in shower. The main toilet facilities were very basic and not at all in keeping with the grandeur of the whole building. They were more like toilets at a motorway services. The cooked breakfast was not very good. The potato cake was soggy, the sausage was very bland. There was no pepper grinder on the table and the sauces were in sachets. For the price we paid, in our experience we would have expected better quality.
