Edgewood Cottage

Beautiful decoration, great location, owner responded fast and tried to fix any problems quickly

The property is in the woods so there is a lot of bugs. The property might be better sealed from outside.screens allowed bugs in and there was opening in all the attic entry on the second floor(not completely sealed). We saw several dying roaches in the house which shows it was probably fumigated. One of the second floor bedrooms, had a mouse crawl across my daughter's head, and she refused to stay in that room, and then the next night a big bug crawled across the person in that room, probably from the house, not being completely sealed. Upon further inspection, found droppings in one of the upstairs closets and underneath the bed was hundreds of small dead Beatles and there was also a smell that was very bad in the house. We were warned by the owner that the electrical to the refrigerator had blown, and that it was running by an extension cord. we originally thought to smell was from food that had gone bad in the refrigerator and the smell dissipated over the next couple days. the owner had an electrician come in and repair the outlet, but the smell returned and remained, though it was less than what it was originally, for the remainder of our stay. The owner was very responsive and immediately came and cleaned up the one bedroom that had the Beatles in it, but nobody wanted to sleep in that room. This is a great house and hopefully if it's sealed better, it'll be a wonderful place to come back too.
