Overall, excellent experience for the price. Clean room, we were upgraded to family suite from two double standard rooms. Breakfast was good and being renewed as the food was getting less. Especially, the staff were really proactive and positive. They accepted early admission as the room was available, and late check out. The staff were professional, clear in communication, smiling and listening and solving our concerns. They have large elevators for people like us who carry large bags. They allowed us to keep our bags till night time in the luggage room.

The only downside was the issue of smoking and sound proofness, even though guests are not allowed to smoke, the opposite room to the one we stayed had guests who smoked which resulted in cigarette smell coming to our room through ventilation system. We shared this with the staff and they were quite positive and proactive regarding the feedback.

We had a very pleasant stay at Diamond Hotel, Baku. The hotel staff were welcoming, accommodating, and always willing to help. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and well maintained, making our stay relaxing. The hotel's location was convenient, with grocery stores and ATMs within easy walking distance. Housekeeping standards were excellent throughout our stay, and the staff remained courteous and cooperative whenever we needed assistance. One thing we particularly appreciated was the flexibility shown by the hotel. We arrived very early, around 7:00 AM, almost half a day before the official check-in time. Instead of making us wait, the hotel allowed us to check in immediately by charging a reasonable half-day rate. After an overnight journey, this early check-in made a significant difference to our comfort and was greatly appreciated. Overall, we had a comfortable and positive experience and would recommend Diamond Hotel to travelers looking for a clean, quiet, and guest-friendly place to stay in Baku.

Although we booked the hotel through Booking.com using our credit card before arriving in Azerbaijan, we were informed at check-in that an additional 18% VAT would be charged. This significantly increased the final cost and should have been clearly reflected in the total booking price from the beginning. A municipal tourism tax (approximately USD 1 per adult per night) was also charged. While it was mentioned in the booking details, it was not sufficiently highlighted and came as an unexpected additional expense. The hotel's transportation services were available, but the pricing required considerable negotiation, which was inconvenient for guests. Although the hotel is in a decent location, it is relatively far from Baku's main attractions, such as Nizami Street and Baku Boulevard. Late at night, finding a taxi back to the hotel was sometimes difficult.
