Woodlands Wilderness Chalet

The location of the resort was fantastic. It’s very easy to get there from Madarihat railway station, just take a toto. It’s in the middle of a tea estate and we saw a herd of wild elephants walk by in the morning. The room was huge and tastefully decorated. The balcony offers a stunning view. The food was freshly cooked and tasted amazing and the dining area was in an outdoor balcony overlooking the tea garden. We also went to Jaldapara National Park and saw deer, Gaur, elephants, rhinos and many birds.

The bathroom could have been cleaner and could have smelled nicer. The stairs to the loft were very steep and a bit difficult to navigate. It’s better for children than for adults.

Santosh Dey also 10/10 is excellent communicator He was in contact several days before our arrival and arranged car to take us from NJP train station to Woodlands Wilderness And every day without being intrusive was available to answer all questions An amazing haven of peace with birdsong from dawn to dusk. There is a 360 degree view looking out for n tea plantation and jungle beyond. The chalets have glass walls and doors so unlimited view and privacy at same time. Can sit out on verandah and enjoy all bird life and even elephants can be seen passing by during hours of dark ( though we never saw) elephant was picked up by video camera at front gate Location perfect for exploring nearby tea plantation forest reserves and nature reserves If enjoy trecking only 1-2 hour drive from Buxa hills and the Buxa Tiger Reserve We had delicious breakfast and dinner cooked on site to perfection Eco friendly Waste food recycling bins Complimentary bamboo toothbrushes

We had no need to watch TV but noticed kettle position on tray underneath TV was causing steam to potentially damage the TV screen.

Wonderful view and very good and friendly staff.
