Abdo and his staff were great, and so was this hotel! It is on the West Bank, so closer to the Valleys of the Kings and Queens but further from Karnak and Luxor temples. KR Hotel is tucked away on a quiet street that is mostly surrounded by farms (and some other hotels), so it is very peaceful there- a lot more than the East Bank. Abdo will welcome you warmly and offer to help with any transportation, information, or tour needs. However, he will also give you plenty of space to figure it out on your own or book separately if you prefer. The rooms are very spacious! The place is clean and tidy. Air conditioning in the bedroom and hot water in the shower work great. A simple breakfast was included with our stay. Starting our morning off early with breakfast on the rooftop was excellent. The food offered for lunch and dinner was good too. The pool is small, but very clean and nicely tucked away from the oppressive sun. It is a great place to cool off and relax after exploring the historical sites- especially with a nice cold (Egyptian) Stella beer! We highly recommend staying at Abdo's hotel!
