Calista Cruise - A Ha Long Bay Spectacle

We took the two night’s cruise for me and my mom. From beginning to end, everything about our experience was absolutely exceptional! Every single detail was thoughtfully planned and perfectly executed, making our stay truly unforgettable. The staff were simply outstanding — warm, welcoming, professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their hospitality made us feel special throughout our entire stay. Wendy welcomed us in a warm smile that we immediately felt comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious, with wonderful variety, excellent quality, and beautiful presentation. Every meal was something to look forward to. I have many food restrictions and our waiter Victor was so patient and generous with planning my 5 course meals. The excursions were fantastic! Everything was perfectly organized, with just the right balance between activities, sightseeing, relaxation, and free time. The schedule was incredibly well planned — we never felt rushed, yet we had the opportunity to experience and enjoy so much. What impressed us most was how smoothly everything worked together. From the service and dining to the excursions and timing, every aspect exceeded our expectations. It is rare to find a place where absolutely everything comes together so perfectly. The entire team deserves tremendous recognition for creating such a wonderful experience.

​Calisto Cruise was a fantastic experience—modern, extremely comfortable, and very well maintained. The cabins were spacious, featuring private balconies and a bathtub with a glass wall overlooking the bay. The service from the whole team was attentive and warm throughout our stay. The food was excellent, especially the first brunch, which featured a great selection of fresh sushi and sashimi. A special mention goes to the cruise manager: even though we booked Legacy cabins, he arranged for us to have all our meals in the front VIP lounge. That gesture gave our stay such a nice touch of luxury, and we really appreciated it. ​I strongly recommend booking the 2-night itinerary. On the second day, we transferred to a smaller, brand-new boat called Explora to head deeper into the bay. It made a world of difference: there were easily 10 times fewer boats and crowds compared to the main routes on day one. Kayaking and visiting the floating fishing village were great, and the lunch served on Explora was delicious. There was plenty of room to relax and just enjoy the scenery in peace.

​A couple of minor notes for improvement: while the food was tasty at every meal, we would have loved to try high-end Vietnamese fine dining on the second evening instead of European options. Also, if you do the 2-night cruise, I'd suggest skipping Luon Cave on the first day—it was way too crowded, whereas the cave visit on day two was much more impressive and exclusive to our group.
