A very friendly proprietor and a charming Inn!! We only stayed one night after a last minute decision not to continue driving in an ice storm. We were warmly greeted, and the room was so comfortable and cozy! They have a lovely set up downstairs with hot chocolate and coffee and tea. It’s a historic property and right next to a covered bridge. Would stay again!

The rooms had beautiful plank flooring, but they had modern fresh and clean furniture that complemented their new paint colors and their updated bathrooms. Our room had a Douglass mini split on the wall for supplemental heating. I was really impressed by the room is very comfortable. I also really enjoyed the people running the Inn, Luke and Naomi were both very warm and inviting. They went the extra steps to bring me ice to my room. Although they had plenty of drink offerings, I’m a Coca-Cola drinker and that’s probably not expected for breakfast. Naomi went out of her way to help me by giving me a Coca-Cola that had been bought for her son, which I really appreciated. The continental breakfast was more than I expected! The breads were freshly made sourdough and a cranberry bread, obviously from a local baker, maybe even Naomi made them. There is something for everyone in our party. There was fresh fruit, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, a variety of bread, yogurt, milk, juice, etc. After a snowy day out exploring, we were a cold and tired - we particularly enjoyed the hot chocolate bar and availability of Tea’s coffees and drinks at the lobby bar. Very good location and a great value. We will definitely stay there again.

Very clean and drinks selection was very good in lobby bar.
Rooms were basic, and the pictures did not reflect this. We felt the price did not represent good value for money. Would have been nice for the room to have been heated when we arrived it was freezing.

The new owners of this historic old inn have taken a huge leap of faith and are finding out that they have a LOT of issues to address. I think that they will get there in time. The inn is a historic old building with somewhat eclectic furnishings that range from period-correct to art deco. The sitting room and dining rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast area has a fireplace and an old bar that serves as the reception desk and coffee/drinks area. A small cooler holds cokes and 6oz bottles of water for $2 each. Breakfast was simple with fruit, yogurt, granola, several local artesian breads (delicious) for toast, orange juice, milk and regular coffee (no decaf). Hot water and a single tea choice is also available. There were plates and silverware available, and we enjoyed a nearby farmer's market fare for dinner one evening. The morning's coffee was the only fresh coffee available and there were small coffee makers in our room. The property is large and has great potential to be an event site. I enjoyed the short walk to the nearby covered bridge (1877). There is plenty of parking. It is about a 3-mile drive into downtown Woodstock but there is a nearer snack shack and a wonderful (but expensive) Farmer's Market where plenty of fresh, organic foods are available. The owner's daughter (age 16) is a talented artist, and her works are around the inn. They call themselves The Lincoln Inn and Gallery. They should focus on being an inn first, and a gallery when they are a successful business. Just my opinion.
We were checked in by the owner's teenage son, a young man of very few words. The owner walked by us twice in the dining area without introducing herself or welcoming us. I finally asked if she was the owner and she confirmed that she was. She did make sure that the A/C was on in the dining area while we were in there so there was that consideration, but she, otherwise, did not converse, other than to let us know that they've had the inn for about 12 months and should have had a more thorough inspection of it before they purchased it. That leads me to believe that they are addressing a LOT of problems that is, probably, eating up income. It would benefit the owners to be more gregarious and conversive with their guests. They may be shy but that is not conducive to a successful business model. Our room (Deluxe Queen) had a queen-size and single bed and was quite small. I'm afraid that the mattresses were quite old and very broken down and uncomfortable. Hopefully there are new mattresses in the future. The bedding itself was fine. The A/C worked well, and the bathroom was small but adequate. The toilet was a low-flow, weak flusher. Coffee was not available until 8AM except for the little room coffeemakers. That is a NO-GO in any successful inn or B&B! Fresh coffee must be available earlier than that! For now, this is a bare-bones effort and I'm sure that it will get better as the newbies further make the inn their own. It was a "port in the storm" and we appreciated the vacancy available for our stay. I don't mean to be unkind with this review, but I do need to be honest because that is what I expect when I read reviews. Hopefully the new owners will take these issues under consideration and work to improve them. I believe that they will. We wish them all the best.
