Bears Nook - JTower Residences

We stayed here for a month and had a wonderful experience! The owner was very understanding, accommodating, and always quick to respond to any of our inquiries. The unit is clean, cozy, and equipped with the basic appliances you need for everyday living. The location is excellent — just a few steps away from JCentre Mall, groceries, and a laundry area. It’s also very easy to find taxis and public transportation nearby. The building is very safe, with 24-hour security and CCTV, which gave us peace of mind throughout our stay. Though it’s a studio-type unit, it’s surprisingly spacious and comfortable for couples. We truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly book this place again and again whenever we need a staycation spot. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a convenient, safe, and comfortable place to stay!

The place is spacious and I was able to do my work. The mall is also very close, just a few steps away from the lobby.

The large unit is brand new and very clean. An early check in was allowed, strong WI-FI connection, great location right by the mall. The cleaners came to do a really good job, great communication with the host. A good size unit but the mattress on the floor up a step, was a little hard to get used to but I was aware prior to my arrival. The building was quiet at night after all the workmen had left. There was a kitchenette.

The low rating is based on the building itself which was still under construction when I stayed there. That resulted in painters arriving on my floor every morning between 7:00 AM and 7:45 AM. Shouting from one end of the hallway to the other. I made 3 complaints but nothing was done about it. Only 2 elevators were in use (the building has 40 floors and many units!) The painters were painting the units still and one morning they were spray painting right outside my unit. The strong toxic smell entered my room early in the morning so I had to leave for the day. A washing machine would have been great. The pillows were old and flat and very uncomfortable. There was a power cut (I was informed in advance and offered to be re-accommodated) for 10 hours in the night, 2 days after I arrived. There was no iron or iron board. The faucet in the kitchen and bathroom sink were loose. The biggest problem was the noise from the apartment upstairs. There was a water leak and the water was dripping on the A/C unit to this apartment which woke me up every night. The matter was brought to the owner’s attention so I am sure it will be taken care of. I did not get much sleep the 2 weeks I was there, as a result of the leak from upstairs.
